cant really see anything happening on tuesday ( other than rubber stamping ).

superrod: You may be right as the agenda for the EGM is pre-determined. However, it would be surprising if the opportunity is not taken for some positive updates given that that there are positive things to talk about. It may be that an up-to-date picture emerges over coffee and biscuits after the meeting; I'm sure sharesure will eb digging previously. The key question is what is the market expecting. Whether it is right or wrong I suspect the market is looking for feedback at least on the ASDA contract and Starpol sales scenario. If this is not forthcoming then what is there to underpin the sp?

Daily Telegraph 29/08/05 page 26:
Leading sector:electricals: stanelco up 272 %
since the start of the year .Hopefully this may bring attention to this company and
its potential , have a great bank holiday !!!! but i think tomorrow could be better!!!

greekman - 29 Aug 2005 09:05 - 8649 of 27111

ghengis..
Morning you beat me to it. Also the next in the Telegraph list is showing plus 99.8% up since start of the year, so it makes the Stanelco rise even more impressive. As to the EGM....Whilst agreeing that this meeting is primarily re the Biotec issue, as its to win the vote, it stands to reason that an update to sell the idea is the sensible thing to do. To sell the idea, they must sell the future.

Aug 29,2005-Top packaging designers, researchers and marketers will come together at the 7th annual Market Research & Development for Package Design conference, September 21 - 23, 2005 at the W Chicago City Center.

This looks like yet another ( diff to the one mentioned about 10 days ago ) conference for Seo to aim at.

morning. pth, i haven't seen you in the betfair poker rooms yet!! i still feel that seo will say something other than blah , blah , resolutions passed. i think eric has called it correctly when he says
"The key question is what is the market expecting."
we haven't had any updates for a while and the sp has steadily dropped. it's pretty obvious that we would like some kind of update on how the retrofit is progressing and i think that would also apply to the market in general. truth be told, we are the bloody market .

btw, what a crap day!!

stockdog - 29 Aug 2005 10:13 - 8651 of 27111

Since SEO won't own Starpol/Biotec until after the EGM has approved its purchase, there cannot be any binding deals in place for it yet. It is unlikely any part concluded deals will be discussed, since there terms will still be sensitive, but they might make a gneral statement that there are many deals under discussion. But we kind of know that would be the case anyway, I think.

But, aren't we still waiting for results ofthe third trial on Greenseal? There could be some news on this front which could perk things up a bit.

The SP has been supported entirely by Greenseal to date, without taking any value for Starpol. Assuming the EGM approves Starpol, the fund-raising to pay for it, and the new fund-raising powers, it would be appropriate for the market to include a reasonable value for this new (and potentially largest) division in the SP.

If we see the SP rise from 20p back through 22p, we will have proved a Benny Hill sized double bottom indicating a further rise back to the 25p level. That's what I'm still holding to (and hoping for).

Would like an update on the other things going on, ie Frogpack and Cardinal.

Sharesure - 29 Aug 2005 12:54 - 8653 of 27111

Will try to feedback as much as possible from the meeting, but it won't be until late Tuesday evening or early Wednesday. Nice that SEO is the top performing share of the Daily Telegraph's list of electrical shares. Sometime maybe the company needs to consider if that is the most appropriate category for it in its current guise.
Meanwhile take a look at Chaco (CHP). That may be the best performing share this coming week. Read the thread; as far as it is possible to tell, the signals look very good.

paulmasterson1 - 29 Aug 2005 13:15 - 8654 of 27111

Hi All,

If you have a trickle of Greenseal orders, maybe adding up to 20/30/50//? machines, since the last order annoucement, would you not update shreholders at the EGM with that information, bearing in mind that every order for 1/2/5/? machines is not worthy of an RNS on it's own, but the total is worth announcing as a 'trading update' ????

Cheers,
PM

seroxat - 29 Aug 2005 14:25 - 8655 of 27111

I think shareholders would be very very disappointed not to get an update at the EGM on the number of machine conversions/orders. I know the EGM has been arranged for a specific purpose but not giving out figures for Greenseal would i think be taken as a sign that orders aren't going that well, and i think we'd see a retracement in the sp.
I think the successful rollout of ASDAs exclusivity contract is mostly priced in and it's this that's keeping us in the 18p-22p range. Any delay/problems may see us fall back but i don't think that a good number of conversions will push the price much higher, what will do this as we all know is a US rollout or maybe unexpected Frogpack news.

New for those interested:

Stanelco PLC
30 August 2005

30 August 2005

Stanelco PLC ('Stanelco' or 'the Company')

Supply Agreement with NatureWorks LLC

Stanelco, the radio frequency (RF) applications Group, is pleased to announce
that it has entered into a supply agreement with NatureWorks LLC, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Cargill Inc. The agreement covers the supply of NatureWorks PLA,
(Polylactide, a starch derivative), which is the largest component of Stanelco's
recently announced Starpol 2000TM range of biodegradable, compostable plastic
materials.

This relationship will materially assist commercialisation of Starpol 2000TM
into Stanelco's target application segments and it is planned that a minimum of
15,000 tonnes of Starpol 2000TM will be produced and sold within the next 12
months.

Starpol 2000TM is available in a range of blends that can be formed into sheet
material for products such as short shelf-life food trays, modified atmosphere
packaging (MAP) trays and blown films for a diverse range of products including
carrier bags, compost bags, waste bags and agricultural films

Howard White, president of Stanelco Inc and Stanelco PLC group managing director
said:

'This is a landmark agreement that further demonstrates the materials created by
Biotec are both ground breaking and commercial.. We have been actively carrying
out pre-production runs of the material with a number of major corporations in
both the Europe and North America. Starpol 2000TM has demonstrated a
functionality far beyond any other current biodegradable alternative and at an
overall cost that is competitive with the existing plastics used in our target
market, namely food packaging. We are also in trials with our partners for
several variations of the material to be used for a number of applications such
as shopping bags, waste bags and a variety of general packaging usages.

Just as importantly, the material is also easily sealable with our GREENSEALTM
technology project which continues, to progress well and which will enable us to
offer a complete biodegradable, environmentally responsible packaging solution
at a competitive cost'

Snehal Desai, NatureWorks LLC Commercial Vice President said:

'We are delighted with the diversity, functionality and competitiveness of the
Starpol 2000TM range of products and believe the marketplace will welcome this
broad extension of offerings of NatureWorks PLA based materials.'

niceonecyril - 30 Aug 2005 07:22 - 8661 of 27111

Like the part
"we have been ACTIVELY been carrying out pre-production runs of
the material with a number of MAJOR corprations in Europe and N/America".

insiderinside - 30 Aug 2005 07:23 - 8662 of 27111

That is quite pathetic - they have agreed to buy Natureworks PLA and this warrants an RNS ?

They plan to produce Starpol in such quantities ? Should they not have orders already - where are those orders - just more plans ??

Why when SE0 buy someone else's products does it warrant an RNS ?

And what about Greenseal orders - could they not have said they have a few more than 2 now ?

LOL ;-)

IMO - very pathetic.

Will be carefully watching for any "comments" from posters who "attend" the EGM - and remember - if they claim to have information not in the public domain and said to them "over coffee and biscuits" or "behind the bike shed" - they could put the management of SE0 in serious trouble over release of inside information - if it were the case ! ;-)

seroxat - 30 Aug 2005 07:27 - 8663 of 27111

'This relationship will materially assist commercialisation of Starpol 2000TM
into Stanelco's target application segments and it is planned that a minimum of
15,000 tonnes of Starpol 2000TM will be produced and sold within the next 12
months.'

SP Metal are going to use 10,000 tonnes which equates to 20M euro, production to be increased to 12,000 tonnes within 6 months by spending an additional 4.5M euros.

So i presume this 15,000 tonnes includes the 10,000 to be used by SP Metal!

niceonecyril - 30 Aug 2005 07:31 - 8664 of 27111

A "minimum" increase of 50% of Starpol2000TM.
Looks good to me, hopefully just an opener, with more info at the EGM?
