Football, What chances !, World Cup, Euro, Clubs, for all : home and away ! (FC)

required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Peter…I still see you are talking to people like a ships captain…lol I think if you were Captaining my ship…I would require manners way above navigational expertise!

I thought I would make a reappearance on this thread because a number of my comments were laughed at or met with a barrage of abuse…I remember at the time Harry departed from Portsmouth and joined a spurs team languishing at the bottom of the premier league…Harry was crucified on this thread!!!

I told a number of posters on here that Portsmouth who were riding high…would get relegated and Spurs would finish the season way above them…I also told these posters Defoe would join Spurs…the club would go on to European football…Harry would be found not guilty of tax avoidance [Dil and co] and finally he would become the England’s Manager…not long to go for the nap hand!

Whether he will be totally in charge for Euro 2012 is not a certainty…but he will inevitably be the manager… you will also find Scott Parker as the Captain for our Euro attempt…he has been our best midfield player for the last four years! Thanks for stealing him Harry!

If I could fault Harry in any way…it would be that he messes a little too much with line-ups…only seven players have started 20 times or more in the league that is 25 games old….Brad Friedel playing the most games at 22...rotation is ok for cup and small changes in the easier league games…but Spurs do over elaborate at times…a miner criticism for a manager that knows the mechanics of successful football….

Luckily my trait of never being wrong gives myself that little extra free time to have fun and laughter these days…I still follow the short gangs on £AM that attempt to make money from backing losers lol…Elephant Man et al…but I also take notice of some very shrewd pundits and punters…the good guys and girls that still make £AM very readable…

take care for now….. Tabasco and friends…

Morning Tabby, amazing how you remain so humble in your self praise mate, can you divulge Wednesdays Lotto numbers :O)

tabasco - 13 Feb 2012 09:09 - 868 of 6918

Morning Chris…I’m a Gentleman really mate…I just go into character when I want to find out what people are truly like….once I have found their limit…I back off and become a Gentleman!

On the other matter…personally I would go for six numbers between 1 and 49...don’t be tempted to tick 50...haven’t seen that come up much? ...at least there aint a zero… although with almost 14 mil batting against you…I would stick your £1 on a six horse accumulator?

I could tell you which six horses today at Wolverhampton today…but you couldn’t afford me. Here is a little teaser…I have up until now had £50 ew on Divertimenti…first race….win 20 and 21 place 4.76 and 4.85 will be very tradable…and should show a profit in running…the others are my secret…toddle pip..

Chris Carson - 13 Feb 2012 09:12 - 869 of 6918

:O) Tabby, I'll leave the gee gees to you, good luck!

Why don't they scrap the handshake stuff....ridiculous : the two captains should shake hands and that's it like before,....I mean you are all charged up ready for action, you want to eat the opposition and then you have to bloody shake hands with them....berks they are, who decided that crap..if they want to shake Hans then they should go back to the dressing room !....if the whole team goes then you'll know there's something really odd going on !....

Dil - 13 Feb 2012 09:34 - 871 of 6918

Thought that myself rf while seeing it again on the news this morning , be kissing each other next.

Morning tabby hows my mdx shares looking ?

Chris Carson - 13 Feb 2012 09:42 - 872 of 6918

rf - Ridiculous I agree, at the end of the game as before more appropriate. No doubt this is to accomodate the razzamatazz of TV, as is cameras on Fergie at the end of 90 mins to monitor 'Fergie time' and his moronic abuse of match officials during the game.

required field - 13 Feb 2012 09:49 - 873 of 6918

At the end of the game then you shake hands, perhaps go and have a pint together....but not at the start of the game.....look you have to admit that Sir Alex is one of the greatest football managers ever and this is blown out of all proportion....I suppose it fills newspapers and such !...

required field - 13 Feb 2012 09:53 - 874 of 6918

This all reminds me of the late great Marti Feldman sort of comedy....!.

Chris Carson - 13 Feb 2012 09:57 - 875 of 6918

Cannot disagree re Fergie being one of the greatest managers since the birth of the Premiership rf. The downside however is allowing his players especially that fat greedy bastard Rooney to argue and remonstrate with every decision the referee makes. His constant whinging, foul mouthed remonstrations with match officials and petty mind games with opposing managers. Legend?

required field - 13 Feb 2012 10:00 - 876 of 6918

Rooney will have to be careful not to be sent off again...but he does have a wonderful winners attitude and I want that ball no matter what...it's part of his game....

Chris Carson - 13 Feb 2012 10:04 - 877 of 6918

So did Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and George Best. Referees decision was final no argument, lack of respect and money has ruined the modern game. Still love it though :O)

TANKER - 13 Feb 2012 10:11 - 878 of 6918

tab i have just put 50pounds ew at 14.1 at lad i see is last race was 7f now 5f

tabasco - 13 Feb 2012 10:47 - 879 of 6918

The way I see the handshake fiasco is another example of crazy Britain…we a country of free speech…we don’t have to like everyone…we don’t have to pretend we like everyone…

Suarez clearly and publicly showed his distaste for Evra…so what? A handshake in my opinion is a greeting or embracing of a person…why pretend?

There were a couple of guys that I was not too fond of when I played football…I knew they deliberately hurt friends while playing…never shook their hands…never shared a pint…is that not normal?…there were 95% of the other players where pleasantries were always shared…it’s all down to the dumb arse rule makers imo….

Tanker…with Belfair there is only around 1% mark up on the over round…you can trade and invariably get 4 or 5 points free by trading…and using in running….just a thought for you…right I’m off!

Wolves sack manager Mick McCarthy

Wolves have sacked boss Mick McCarthy following Sunday's 5-1 home thrashing by Black Country rivals West Brom.
McCarthy has been in charge at Molineux since July 2006 but his side have won only one of their last 13 matches.
"The board took the difficult decision after a run of form which has seen Wolves pick up 14 points in the last 22 league games," read a club statement.
