jeffmack - 19 Mar 2003 19:19 - 873 of 23498

news flash just said war about to kick off

hilary - 19 Mar 2003 20:04 - 874 of 23498

Do you think there's still time for an ante-post on the away side then Jeff?

hilary - 19 Mar 2003 20:05 - 875 of 23498

Or do you think each-way might be a safer bet?

jeffmack - 19 Mar 2003 20:30 - 876 of 23498

No, go for the away win, unlike the gooners tonight

little willie - 20 Mar 2003 05:29 - 877 of 23498

Hope our side have got some muslim to put over the meat to keep the flys off

hilary - 20 Mar 2003 07:37 - 878 of 23498

Is there any particular muslim that you think we should put over the meat, lw? Maybe if you asked nicely, the Prophet Muhammed himself might oblige. I've heard he's far superior at meat covering than some of those modern day imposters like bin Liner and Saddam Hussein.

As an alternative (and far better, imho) might be to cover the meat with some muslin which is a fine cotton cloth with a gauze-like appearance.

:-)

Golddog - 20 Mar 2003 10:54 - 881 of 23498

Morning all! This is Commander Pooch here reporting live from behind a large sand dune....all i can say is that it's bloody hot here and things are getting hotter!........Im just awaiting orders but will keep you all informed of what's going on......

...Poochy reporting from behind enemy lines on a Golf course.

This_is_me - 20 Mar 2003 12:37 - 882 of 23498

That must have been a very bad shot off the tee!

Golddog - 20 Mar 2003 12:59 - 883 of 23498

Commander Pooch reporting from behind enemy lines in a wood. I can only say that things are not going smoothly but am pushing forward to the next tee. If i can reach objective 18 i will report back with any important News. I have seen many dangerous flying projectiles go past me here and im not sure if i will get through this mission without injury.

.....Over & out and may of lost it.....Pooch

little woman - 20 Mar 2003 18:15 - 884 of 23498

Hello - anyone out there!

Been away being a tourist for the last 10 days and very little signs of life.......

Perhaps US friendly fire has hit here too.

Any chance of a cup of something stronger than tea?

vasey - 20 Mar 2003 19:05 - 885 of 23498

Of course, little woman. There's always a fresh bottle of white wine in the fridge, some red behind the bar and all the usual suspects in full bottle form in the kitchen. (We don't bother with optic measures here!) Help yourself and make yourself comfy on the sofa. (Sorry about the dog hairs!)

Anyone seen Commander Pooch since he went over the top today? Should we be concerned? (He is on our side, isn't he?)

Socrates - 20 Mar 2003 19:12 - 886 of 23498

Vasey
That's Corporal Pooch, he's only just joined and has yet to earn a few stripes. Talking of bottles, bubbly time?

Optics! I've just got some new specs and now I can see what I'm saying, still doesn't make sense.

Saddam, when asked what time he has his tea answered, "when Tariq Aziz"!

little woman - 20 Mar 2003 19:56 - 887 of 23498

You mean Private Pooch, can't get promoted to Corporal until he proved he has some leadership qualities...

Silly question - but where did Tiddles the cat come from?????? What happened to GD????

Feeling a little bit tipsey - lovery bit of red, need to get some sleep before it's enforced.....
