I'm fascinated by your charts, Bud, but I must admit to being confused by them. I've drawn my own chart. Can you tell me please whether I should be long or short?
:o)

Hi Buderim,
What are those colours and more importantly how do you use them...do we need some 'coke' to get the interpretation in focus!

Hi John,
I am a Pepsi man so I dont touch coke !!!
The colours are different moving averages , the more they fan out the stronger the trend is.
I use the black line crossing out of the bands as my entry which you can see on the previous chart .
It is just something I am playing around with

Hi Buderim,
Thanks your last.....please let us know if you think it helps....and how. I have tried to incorporate Updata into my trading for the last year or so, but it's not working out for me. Keep up the sugared water intake, whatever they say about health additives I think it's good for you!!
Hils...do you still use that complex system to add to positions when they are going in your favour or have you refined it since you last posted the method?
Thanks, John

You mean pyramiding? In which case the answer is both yes and no.
I've basically got 3 different strategies which employ different timescales. Recently, my lifestyle has changed a bit and I'm able to spend more time at the PC. Because of this I've started employing the faster charts (1-minute) which I've not really used that much previously. I'm obviously looking to spend less time in positions and the answer is an emphatic NO I don't add.
My slower strategy uses longer timescales and looks to capture much bigger moves of several hundred pips over days or even weeks. In those instances, YES I do add.
Psychologically, I've got an issue with being one side of a market short term whilst the other side of it longer term and am therefore tending not to use my slow strategy. There's nothing wrong with it though, and I think it's something that I need to address.

Daisy, 'lifestyle has changed', I know you are a bit long in the tooth so have you taken your pension at 60 like Choccie?

Hey Chocopops, don't get carried away. I don't want any of that gay talk on here like there is on the other thread.
Anyway I've got two babies of my own and I don't want anymore. I keep threatening to leave them with Delboy but he hasn't taken the hint.
Btw, have you done something to the Yen?

Thank you Hils.
For myself I have a strategy of reducing my stake as the position moves in my favour, so was pleasantly interested in your approach. Clearly you need to be able to adopt two views at the same time which only certain people can handle.
Have you ever looked at using tick charts rather than mins? I have started trading Forex Futures, you can see the volume, spread is 1 pt, and the liquidity is growing, oh and importantly you get volume data! I think more Brokers are offsetting their positions in the Futures market, it's kind of interesting so I mention it, not that anyone should do what I am doing, it's just information for the thread.
Best, John

Good idea. If we leave it till next Summer he'll be able to give them some work experience. Wonder if he'll pass the Health and Safety checks?
Btw, you forgot the black.
