Biofuels Corporation. (BFC)

wilbs - 07 Jul 2004 19:47

The main activity of Biofuels is the large scale production and exploitation of biodiesel and glycerine following the construction and commissioning of the initial plant.

Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and, as an environmentally friendly product, can make a significant contribution towards reducing green house gases and meeting Kyoto targets.

i think UBS or someone today issued a 20p price target.
Do you not think that when they get there or say 30p a fund manager or wealthy entrepeneur with a view of long term successs could takeover BFC , clear the debts and get it all working again competitively. and then say a five to ten year period you start making fantastic gains, i would if i could.

G D Potts - 11 Nov 2006 10:30 - 876 of 1184

you could snap it up for around 35million i reckon... or even BP, theyve got the money to spare, they want renewable possibilities in the future and they wouldnt mind taking 'short term pain long term gain'.

Investors chronicles has a negative update on BFC, saying that price target has been reduced and funding may need to be reconsidered with Barclays in December.

cynic - 11 Nov 2006 16:30 - 878 of 1184

exactly the same prob this time last year when BFC escaped receivership by the skin of its teeth ..... DOO looked at a t/o but walked away very smartly ...... DOO makes a much better alternative in the same field (see thread) ..... that DOO's sp has also taken a bit of a tumble this week creates a good buying opportunity

HARRYCAT - 11 Nov 2006 20:28 - 879 of 1184

Cynic!!! If I am not mistaken that almost sounds like ramping. Anyone would think you are trying to profit from promoting a stock which you already hold! :o)

cynic - 12 Nov 2006 07:47 - 880 of 1184

don't care if it does sound like ramping .... have merely expressed my view with, what passes for me, some reasonable logic ...... have a look for yourself

Tonker - 12 Nov 2006 11:55 - 881 of 1184

I agree with Cynic, DOO is much better alternative..... but the stock seems to keep falling

G D Potts - 12 Nov 2006 13:04 - 882 of 1184

so it cant be that much better. GTL better than both, (Oh and Symphony).

cynic - 12 Nov 2006 17:14 - 883 of 1184

GTL and DOO (and BFC) are in different fields .... GTL produces ethanol, DOO and BFC bio-diesel ..... and I don't agree with you either, though i hold both DOO and GTL ...... DOO has probably fallen merely in sympathy with BFC and with the fact that bio-diesle prices have fallen back ..... but GTL is hardly performing well at the moment either!

G D Potts - 13 Nov 2006 10:32 - 884 of 1184

only a matter of time cynic

cynic - 13 Nov 2006 10:50 - 885 of 1184

shall be very pleased if you are right (assume you mean GTL), especially if it happens within my allotted time on this mortal coil

hlyeo98 - 14 Nov 2006 20:41 - 886 of 1184

Looks like UBS is setting a target of 30p for BFC.

hlyeo98 - 15 Nov 2006 09:58 - 887 of 1184

Continued concern about the biodiesel producer's debt position makes BFC down 6p to 39p now.

maestro - 15 Nov 2006 17:22 - 888 of 1184

i think bio fuel is finished...hydrogen technology coming soon...why waste our land growing bloody oil crops

G D Potts - 15 Nov 2006 18:45 - 889 of 1184

hasnt even started yet maestro you joker, thats the worst opinion ive ever heard.

cynic - 15 Nov 2006 19:47 - 890 of 1184

hydrogen = hot air = maestro

Big Al - 15 Nov 2006 19:48 - 891 of 1184

maestro - ur a f***kwit! ;-)))

Big Al - 15 Nov 2006 19:49 - 892 of 1184

However, you could be right. That would be a turn up

Big Ted - 15 Nov 2006 22:07 - 893 of 1184

*looks up hydrogen producing companies...*

cynic - 16 Nov 2006 08:21 - 894 of 1184
