How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Always thought that a hurdle was just a hurdle. OK, there are grand national hurdles but they're a different species altogether!
Just shows how much I know about horse racing!

most racecourses have 2 separate courses - a hurdles course and a chase course.
The chase course has big fences, ditches and water jumps, like the national though not as big. The hurdles course has thin hurdles which effectively fall down when hit and at worst cause a loss of balance. also they are only about 2.5 ft high compared to the chase fences which can be 6 ft high and also several feet wide

I've had a small problem with my basic betangel this afternoon. The green 'In-play' banner has been in the middle of the screen instead of at the top, and it has obscured the Back odds of the 4th horse down.
Is this for Scrip please?

You should send an email to support schiff, I don't have the bandwidth to deal directly with problems.
BTW All, I am going to the Reading vs Soton match this evening after I was kindly offered a ticket. I'll wave so you can see me on the TV!

Is there liquidity in those races Steve?

The bigger races yes, but most of it comes to the market in the last 3 or 4 minutes so its a bit hectic, but in the last race over 150k was matched on the fav in the last 5 mins.
the swings tend to be quite violent but can therefore be very profitable

Morning All
Just been looking at the Ind v Pak cricket. Pak scored 265 after their innings. Ind looking very comfortable on 96 without loss after only 14 overs.
Not involved yet as prices too skinny and there's been some big bots jumping in and out of the order book

India are now 128/2 having lost Tendulkar and Sehwag within a few overs of each other.
There's not the usual amounts of liquidity in the game as it's not televised but the fall of wickets have cleared the big bots away for now.
