How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Dil

not surprised with the way the game went - i got out on the wales +26.5 at 1.08 which i dare say you would have done if trading - just a shame i didnt reverse it. Will try and have a look at the handicaps later for this weekend

Got nearly all my shirt back now Fundy. Traded two football matches today and had two good results.

Out watching Ebbooo tomorrow so won't be trading the rugby and I'm not really into trading Wales games .

Have a good weekend all , pub calls.

Morning All

Just been looking at the Ind v Pak cricket. Pak scored 265 after their innings. Ind looking very comfortable on 96 without loss after only 14 overs.

Not involved yet as prices too skinny and there's been some big bots jumping in and out of the order book

bakko - 11 Feb 2006 10:22 - 8776 of 10502

India are now 128/2 having lost Tendulkar and Sehwag within a few overs of each other.

There's not the usual amounts of liquidity in the game as it's not televised but the fall of wickets have cleared the big bots away for now.

India game all over Bak

the big money is more likely to be asian bookmakers than bots i think you'll find

it is on tv but only ARY (812 on sky) which was available at 40 for the test and one day series

3.35 at Lingfield El Tiger is one of Barney Curleys to keep an eye - been drifting like a barge already this morning though on thin volumes - last time out this won at a huge price with little money for it but still worth watching

Warwick definitely off, Newbury will re-inspect at 1pm and if racing goes ahead they are likely to put the start back half an hour

BP

I mainly dont get involved till 10-15 mins before the off then trade on weight of money and price trend, however, theres a number of trainers and/or jockeys i deem as suspicious with regard to the all weather tracks and hence scan the cards for them and watch the price action from them occasionally throughout the morning

keep an eye on El Tiger, Barney Curleys runner in the 3.35 at Lingfield

green too early on the rugby, the irish are putting this on a plate for the french

B-P - 11 Feb 2006 14:25 - 8788 of 10502

nice one fundy
(looks like the Irish need some Scottish assistance)

Fundamentalist - 11 Feb 2006 14:31 - 8789 of 10502

cheers BP

thought the Irish were awful last week and lacking in organisation and were flattered by the welsh to beat the Italians, whilst the French just couldnt spill as much ball as they did last week

also tempted by the scots on the handicap tomorrow

bakko - 11 Feb 2006 15:17 - 8790 of 10502

Lots of early goals in the premiership

Arsenal 0-1 Bolton
Villa 1-1 Newcastle
Fulham 1-0 WBA
