Google says this in a thread about Speedfan.
"an abandoned sensor from that Super IO IT8718F chip, just untick it so it won't bug you anymore at the main screen."
One last picture from Core Temp this time:-
EDIT. That Core Temp jobby is great fun as I now have two little temperature readings in my task bar. Now I can see how hard I am working!!

Microsoft are now including the browser ballot with Windows update as directed by the EU.
For myself, I am perfectly happy with IE8, but even those people who are not, are perfectly capable of choosing an alternative browser for themselves without having the process forced on them by the Common Market.
If you are running Win XP then the update will be forced on you, my copies of Win 7 have presented the update as an opt in option though I wouldn't count on that not being changed.
If you want to avoid the browser ballot, switch off automatic updates, then run windows update.
In Win XP choose the custom option, and review the important updates, goto the browser update and de-select it. Then click the + next to it and check the 'Don't show this again box'. Continue to install the remaining updates and then re enable auto updates.
In Win 7, click on the important updates link, goto the browser update and make sure it is de-selected. Then right click on it and click hide details. Continue to install the remaining updates and then re enable auto updates.
If you allow this update to be installed, it will unpin IE8 from the Win 7 taskbar and most likely make other changes.

Opt,
Why don't you like the ballot?
Firefox is my default. Opera is what I use quite a bit of the time. IE is simply sitting there in my quickstart box for the odd time the other two can't read a page. How will the ballot set me back?
That other site you suggest is interesting.

I believe you have the acer aspire one netbook? Did you install Win7 on it? What version and did you have any problems? Did Win7 take care of all the drivers or did you need to look for some? 64 or 32 bit?
Cheers

I have WinXP on mine at the moment. Do you think it will be faster with Win7?

Try this :
http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/remove_olderversions.xml
Or go to 'Start' 'Control Panel' 'Add or remove programs' & see how many Java programs are installed. Check to make sure of the latest Java program number release before you start so that you know which are the older versions. Then highlight each individual program you want to delete & click the 'uninstall' button. (Assuming you are using XP)

I am doing a media collection for a time capsule.
What do you think has the best chance of lasting the longest as a storage medium?
DVD, Memory stick, hard drive mass storage or something else?
Cheers

Moses considered all of those and went for stone.

And where are those tablets of stone now?
:-)
You can get very high quality DVDs and CDs which are designed for longevity, but I'm not sure I'd trust them.
