Evening all,

Stockbunny, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend I really wanted you to chill, but ouch, claiming on insurance would not be an option :o(
It's easy for me to be so relaxed at such events, my son is 16 and unfortunately termially ill, I guess that was what I wanted to say, you are very lucky to have such a problem, I would love that problem. Guess it's just a jealousy thing, sorry.
Brocks

brockman - 02 Jul 2004 20:06 - 8877 of 23498

I'm gonna help myself to a Chardonnay

dotel - 02 Jul 2004 20:17 - 8878 of 23498

brocks
I'm so, so sorry

brockman - 02 Jul 2004 20:27 - 8879 of 23498

Hi Dotel, yes it is very, very sad
It's that something that makes you so angry, just like a thief or robber!
You feel cheated but bey, he's a great boy, I have that

dotel - 02 Jul 2004 20:31 - 8880 of 23498

brocks - I can't mail you.

brockman - 02 Jul 2004 20:36 - 8881 of 23498

Dotel, that is so sweet of you, many, many thanks.
I have had sixteen years to gear up to this, they told me he wouldn't live much longer than 12/13 years and although we lost him twice two winters ago, he got through the vent and we plod on. I don't normally go into this but sometimes its good to talk and share, then we all can, including me, see the funny and happy side of life ;o)

brockman - 02 Jul 2004 20:37 - 8882 of 23498

Lots of people know my probs and my e-mail is thebrockie@aol.com

Fundamentalist - 02 Jul 2004 20:49 - 8883 of 23498

Brock

very sorry to hear -its a cruel world we live in sometime. If you ever need to vent, this is normally a good place to do it. I respect your courage.

dotel - 02 Jul 2004 20:52 - 8884 of 23498

I'm still decimating the dinner here, but I'll mail you later.
Keep the bar-stool warm for me

brockman - 02 Jul 2004 20:54 - 8885 of 23498

Hi Fundi, yes, sometimes talking to faceless people is good. Not sure it takes courage :o(

brockman - 02 Jul 2004 20:55 - 8886 of 23498

While Dotel is decimating the dinner, does that mean burnt!!! ;o) Can I have another Chardonnay

Fundamentalist - 02 Jul 2004 20:56 - 8887 of 23498

Brock

the courage comment wasn't to do with the talking, but with what you must have had to deal with over the years. I know how hard it was for me dealing with my mum when she was terminally ill.

brockman - 02 Jul 2004 21:02 - 8888 of 23498

Sorry, yes, it is hard. A no hope verdict for any decent human being is torture, most people are decent and understanding. My toast is for them tonight, as I open another bottle of White, "to decent human beings of any colour and nationality"

Golddog - 02 Jul 2004 21:05 - 8889 of 23498

Brockman, I'm not sure what to say? i would not understand the depth of feelings you have for your son and what goes through your heart and mind each and every day. But this is for certain, you love him and you care for him and i reckon you do more for your son than most parents ever do in thier lifetime for their children. You have great heart and soul and although your son may not show it or tell you, he as a wonderful mum the best he could ever hope for and already had the love of a lifetime. That's all anyone could ever ask for. I shall get you your drink my friend.

Fundamentalist - 02 Jul 2004 21:10 - 8890 of 23498

Brock

Ill have a pint of guinness and raise my glass in toast with you

brockman - 02 Jul 2004 21:14 - 8891 of 23498

Well, what can I say, it doesn't take much to reduce me to tears now. I know there are wonderful people and scum bags in this world, thank heavens for the nice people. Cheers xxxxxxxxxxxxx Oh and I'm a Mum, not a Dad ;o)

Big Al - 02 Jul 2004 21:16 - 8892 of 23498

brockman - have a similar situation with my youngest sister, although she is a little older. I always try to remember the good times, but that goes without saying and probably doesn't help much. 'Nuff said. ;-)

Dotel often seems to be decimating something that sounded edible before it was "tampered" with.

Well, this bottle's well down - amazing how it empties so much faster on a Friday. ;-0
