Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

There's far too many pro europhiles GIVING their pro eu stance when what they're spouting is either deception, speculation or plain LIES...
Some of them need to keep their mouths shut, to give the appearance of neutrality..

What I think you're saying is.. Carney believes the bankers and financiers are to stupid to think for themselves...What other reason would there be??..

What I am saying is the Governor of the Bank of England is the most senior position in the Bank of England. He is also Chairman of the Monetary Policy Committee, with a major role in guiding national economic and monetary policy, and is therefore one of the most important public officials in the United Kingdom. I would think he would know more than most going into the UNKNOWN, with a exit vote. I do not feel he would bend the truth. So how can he just sit there with his mouth shut. That would be totally irresponsible. There would be shouts for his resignation after the vote, and indeed for lying/or bending fact. Also his main point of pulling out would lead to the biggest threat of financial instability for Britain, I hope would be well thought out before the British public vote. In other words to me, we will be heading into the UNKNOWN. Something the British public should hear about.

UKNOWN!!..BEND THE RULES!!...
It had to be drag out of him for him to admit that there was also some threats to staying in..His intention was to just give the negatives on what it 'could' be like if the UK were to leave.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense would except that there would be turbulence in the begining, just like any shock, but it usually recovers, particularly when the new trade deals could take up to 2 years...But trade would'nt stop it would carry on.
Does that also mean that if we do leave and nothing major cataclysmic happens then all these pro-europhiles who used scarmongering and lies and deception would ALL resign en-mass???...

It's a known unknown imo.
What, exactly will change?
Will the €uro's pull up the drawbridge? .... No!
Will La Belle France refuse to sell us vino? ... No!
Will the Germans refuse to sell us Cars? ... No!
Will the city decamp to Frankfurt? ... No! (Boris is their man)
Will the €uro's impose a tax on imports from blighty? ... No imo, it's a two way street, and they have a lot more to lose if they go down that route.
The above are but a few thoughts that come to mind.
