Will only cover stocks bought in the present month the last thread was getting too big and weighted down by one argument on one company. seperate threads are set up for each company from the old thread.
Buys this Month.
Telecolm Plus Results due Friday and has made an excelent start as a new buy. Now through the important 350p resistance barrier.
Sci Entertainment Another company which has an update coming and is up on the buy price. Latest trading update mentioned sales well above budget.
Bema Gold A little gem of a gold miner and has surged on the back of the increasing POG, star of the Month.
Thistle Mining A speculative punt and one which leapt 41% in one day on back of new drilling results. I lopped the top of this one when increase from buy was circa 34%. Rest left in as a gamble on POG.
Caldwell Investments Nothing Spectacular here but still up on buy price. If its good enough for Jim Slater and Evil Knievil, its good enough for me.
CardPoint Latest buy and just ahead of buy price. Been tipped by the Red Hot Penny Shares and also Citywire.
Stocks On The Watch List
Wolfeson Micro, Radstone Technology, Proteome Sciences, Fulcrum Pharma, Severfield Rowen, Deltex medical, M L Labs, NAP - Porvair.
Any comments on the portfolio welcome.
cheers GF.

Andy, yup no problem on the short term front and yes If you can make the money take it. I have no problems with that and I hope you have done well out of your investments and I am sure you have already.
Just one thing though andy and as a pal Im just going to give you a bit of an experienced warning. ( ive been in mining shares for over 20 years)
Every " tom dick and Harry are on OXUS" a lot dont have a clue about the ins and outs of mining. Yup there just there because its the next big thing. Sounds a bit like the dot com boom, yup you must know.
Now if the price of POG does tank beleiveve me there are so many shorters lined up for it and thats a fact and guess who is the target, yup you guessed right Oxus and shortely followed by Avocet which I own and I have to say feel uneasy about.
OK and I hope like a lot of Gold Bugs we go on to $600 but I dont see it that way. Already the european idiots are talking about devaluing the the EURO to suit the French and the Germans.
Lets stay good pals and see what happens.
Many thanks and cheers GF.

Goldfinger,
Well I really don't think "every Tom, Dick, and Harry" are in Oxus to be honest.
Oxus hardly merit much of a mention outside mining circles, and certainly aren't being pushed in the investment magazines, and looking around the BB's, there are few posts on the Oxus threads, and probably no more than on the Avocet threads. I would say that there are few "next big thing" investors in Oxus at all, most are the usual names that invest in mining stocks.
In fact I think most of the people invested in Oxus have a balance between them and Avocet, as indeed I have.
Oxus have a seriou s amount of assets, that are growing every day the gold price rises, so it would be a brave or foolish man that shorted these, IMHO.
Gold is clearly in an uptrend, for the moment at least, as is silver, and other base metals.
Avocet, are perhaps the cheapest mining stock on the LSE, so with gold in an uptrend, it's hard to see these two falling by much, at the moment at least.

I've been an Oxus shareholder since the beginning of February, and I certainly didn't have a clue about "the ins and outs of mining" when I bought it! One of the great things that has struck me about holding these shares is that it seems to attract very few 'Toms, Dicks, and Harrys'! There's a lot of solid support out there from shareholders who have a lot of faith in Bill Trew and Co., and it's only in the last few weeks that 'Joe Public' have latched on to Oxus - perhaps the fact that it was tipped in Shares Magazine recently had something to do with that. Anyone who shorts this share right now must have a few screws loose and will get his ass seriously burnt imop!

Scottie,
I have to agree, Bill Trew is establishing himself in the city, and he has delivered the goods so far.
It would appear Goldfinger is trying to gently deramp Oxus, and frighten people in a very subtle way here!
Don't worry, I have every confidence in both Oxus and Marakand, and I seriously doubt anyone will be shorting them!

AVM at position 61 & OXS at position 41 in the table above. Can anyone give any constructive comments? The last column is the most interesting one and from this you have to say OXS looks about average and AVM looks very undervalued!

Personally I'm not really interested in columns, but facts. Facts are that Oxus has out-performed Avocet over the last few months. Facts are that Oxus is far less volatile than Avocet. Facts are that with the gold pour imminent and the 'dividend' announcement from Oxus due in the next few weeks all the columns you want to produce are about to go ass over tit! Get my drift? This aint a ramp - just facts!

Evil Knievil is already lining up his targets for shorting gold miners if POG were to tank. Dont worry he didnt mention the two named above. It was in this weeks EvilCast. Its only about two months ago aswell that he had a short position on Griffin mining for exactly the reasons I outlined in my earlier post.
cheers GF.

A great start to the week all my recent momentum plays are up this morning including bioprogress which looks like the bounce is back on, nchipher up 4p, and a value play Service Power going north again.
Both Gold plays are up and I would expect more this afternoon. Just wish Bond would stay above 50p and move further up.
Im now off to watch the victory parade for our great rugger team. Well done lads.
Sees you later.
cheers GF.

GF regarding your post on 7/12, I thought you might like to pass this article I found on ADVFN on to anyone you know who is planning to short OXS in particular, and the price of gold in general. Makes interesting reading.

Author: Jim Sinclair
In terms of positive internal numbers, this gold move still has the mind-blowing, bullish potential it exhibited at $342 - both in the long and the short term.
This particular condition is a rare event which I saw only a few times in the bull market of the 70s. In fact, we could be heading for $529 right here and now.
Kenny Adams and I have strong feelings about the potential for a major move in gold and we firmly believe this is the "Big One."
When a reaction occurs, as it always does within a major move - be it in the 420s, 430s or even 450s - the gold bears will think they have finally succeeded.
Such a reaction will just be another "bear trap" as they've been since gold traded at $342. The reaction will be swift before it reverses again and moves upward to make even higher highs.
So if you reduce your positions into strength along the upper ranges of the Power Up Trend channels or by any other TA signal such as a French Curve completion and then internal indicators, be prepared to re-enter swiftly at lower levels.
As we informed you at $342, this is a major move that remains fully in place now at $407.50 versus February Comex gold.
To those gold bears, including producer hedgers, carry trade wise guys and simple gold shorts who are still entertaining enormous short positions, we wish you no harm. However, if you don't cover, you are going to be royally flattened and possibly bankrupted.
You are standing directly in front of a runaway freight train which from both a technical and fundamental perspective looks more like a raging bull than anything we've seen in recent history.
In this case, the light at the end of the tunnel is a freight train and it's heading directly towards you.

Cheers scottie I have seen it. If you go to the site,.................
http://www.gold-eagle.com/
You will see many Gold Bugs both Bull and Bear giving out these 'hyped predictions'. Both of course favouring their own positions.
Please dont get me wrong, I hope POG does go through the ceiling and In fact I am long of Bema, Avocet, Golden Prospect, and Yamana and will be going into my first explorer in the morning, one which I feel has massive potential.
I just think that one has to take stock of the situation when markets boom like this. I for one feel, well know that a lot of non - mine orientated investors have jumped on the band waggon on Oxus and avocet and if POG was to tank I would be out of these two companies as quickly as possible.
It only takes a rolling stone to create an avalance.
good luck and cheers GF.

A nasty little drop for Telecolm Plus today, I suppose it was going to happen after the CEO had sold stock and one paper said it was time for taking some profits. I still beleive the price will in the medium term move northwards.
Bioprogress had a good day on heavy volumes and I am now waiting for more contact news to push this one very much higher.
cheers GF.
ps, nchipher still looking very cheap indeed.

TSG, its come out with some much upgraded deposits this morning hasnt it?.
Have given it the once over but not sure its in the same class as African Eagle which could move on to be MASSIVE. Its all a matter of speculation with most explorers in the early days.
cheers GF.
