WORTHINGTON NICHOLLS, Some Say Float Of The Year. Watch For It. (WNG)

goldfinger - 18 Mar 2006 00:18

Watch out for this one floating in the next few days, it could turn out to be the float of the year. Theres not much available on the company yet but I have found the write up below which shows the fantastic potential of this one. Note just how cheap it is.

New Issue: here's one that's more than hot air

Published: 12:45 Monday 27 February 2006
By Cliff Feltham, Companies Correspondent

Owners of thousands of buildings in the UK are facing massive bills over the next few years to comply with new energy standards, which is good news for new AIM entrant Worthington Nicholls.

Air conditioning and ventilation units using ozone depletive gases have to be replaced by systems using more environmentally friendly gases.

The measures are creating a windfall for air conditioning installation companies like Manchester-based Worthington Nicholls which is to float on AIM with a price tag close to 35 million.

The firm, which has been around since the early 1970s, needs extra working capital to cope with the influx of orders which will see this year's turnover climb from 11.7 million to nearly 30 million.

The flotation, sponsored by broker Corporate Synergy, will also allow founder chairman Peter Worthington, who is nearing his 70th birthday, to sell shares worth around 7 million.

After years of steady progress, the firm has seen a huge jump in work triggered by new energy efficient legislation flowing from the Kyoto Agreement.

The deadline for owners of buildings to replace air conditioning, heating, ventilation and chilled water systems using banned gases is the end of 2009.

Chief executive Mark Worthington, son of John, believes there are at least 9,000 buildings in the UK which will have to comply with the new regulations. But the figure could be much higher. ' We are talking billions of pounds here,' he says.

Worthington Nicholls has concentrated on servicing hotel and retail clients which include Hilton, Holiday Inns, Debenhams, Arcadia and Boots.

A new, energy compliant air conditioning plant in a high street store can cost anywhere between 80,000 and 120,000. Re-fitting a Debenhams branch cost 670,000 while hotels can expect to pay around 3,500 a room for a new air conditioning unit.

Worthington Nicholls offers a complete service, designing the system, managing installation and providing regular maintenance. At present income from maintenance contracts is running at around 20% of total sales but that is expected to rise.

The flotation, which is raising a total of 15 million, will also provide a warchest for acquisitions. Two deals have already been lined up with will add another 20 million a year to turnover.

Mark Worthington says there is huge scope for acquisitions. The company claims to be market leader yet it only has a 3% share suggesting plenty of room for consolidation.

The company is making some confident assumptions about future growth. Profits are expected to rise from 3.7 million last year to 8.6 million in the current year to September. By 2008 it is projecting earnings of 12.6 million on sales of 45 million but this does not take into account any contribution from future acquisitions.

Says Worthington: 'Stringent environmental legislation has changed our business. Now the large international hotel and restaurant groups prefer to deal with a single supplier. We believe there is huge scope for expanding not just in the UK but across Europe.'

Price of the shares being placed will be fixed over the new few weeks following investor presentations with dealings due to start in about a month's time.

Please DYOR and do not use money on shares you cannot afford to lose.

cheers GF.

Err, can someone please answer if Worthington is the same Worthington as COH? Ta very much. Would explain why Thrush is posting on here. Or perhaps he thinks that the two are the same, but actually they are not, in which case I feel sorry for anyone named Worthington, cos you will be hounded by a total muppet for the rest of your life!!

AdieH - 13 Jul 2007 09:29 - 900 of 1203

This was posted on the COH thread...

Look guys if you want to ban me then go ahead and an me, but please give your solid reasons for doing so as there are laws to protect my right to free speech on a public BB.

So what is so offensive to you?.

Is it my total ignorance of the market and how its works?

Well that being the case I am, as I said right from the start, here to learn.

Are all you illustrious opposers of mine, opposed too as well to educating the ignorant? Which I humbly confess to be on most things

Or could there be a more sinister rational?

Could it be that people such as AHIEH and beemmer, angry people at best, are annoyed that I have busted up their comfortable taitatait rampings of COH--the more they ramp the more suckers get drawn in etc etc.

I have exposed COH for what I believe it to be and called it right dead right and now there is obviously more to come as its still a loss making company which appears to me to be runing around in circles and paying propbably over the odds for Snack Attack, a complete chain of outlets Worthigton could have bought for a song not that long ago.

I was a member here for years before I posted---thats right years, I just read the posts and picked up what I could, an yes made some little money out of the market.

We all have our different ways of doing things, I happen to follow WB principles.

I dont agree with TA, as I do not agree with crystal balls, and witchcraft, I believe in solid fundamentals and these tell you to go on past performance and solid accounts. ie concret laying.

I dont believe that you can forecast share performance as there are so many imponderables moving in on the equations daily if not hourly.

Although that said I appreciate the work cyinic and PTH put into thier craft.

Since forecasting the COH drop its got very personal---to me I dont mind as infantiles usual cry when they toys are taken away, as do bullies when they cant get their own way.

No problem for me, none what so ever.

I now see that beemer says COH has a dossiers on me, mmmhhh reminds me of the good old days of the Cold War.

Yes I am highly critical of Richard Worthington, and yes I think things are not as they should be at COH---but I say so here and out in the open.

You see I have nothing to hide and I would now very much like to see the COH dossier on me, if in fact there is one.

Under the Freedon of Information Act I am entitle to see any files etc,etc

But let me make it easy all round, for if Mr Worhtigton has been telling his sychopants tales out of school, which beemer sems to imply, then that to is further misconduct for a CEO.

So my message is cklear to Mr Worthingtom and co, if indeed as your shareholder beemer claims you have a dossier on me for simply publicly opposiing your COH and BKE business methods, then why not do as I do and publish what you have here, right here, ! right now, today and lets clear the air!

You can rest assured of two things, with the recent events in COH leave more questions unanswerd than answered and I will keep seeking the truth.

Furthermore if you are man enough to publish this alledged dossier that your appear to happy to informMr beemer that you have, may I respectfully suggest that kindly ensure that when you put it here its all cortect and true as there are some very stringent libel laws.

And more importantly, if as you claim you know me then obviously you will be aware that I have just won two libel cases, and settle one in my favour out of court, and very lucrative ideed they were! People only "thinking" they knew what they were talking about as opposed to knowing.

You see fans what ever and when ever I will always seek out and go for the truth over everything else.

Like what some of you say here I am COH bashing or WNG bashing---that not quite so///there is nothing in it for me.

I just happen to feel that financial BBs are not all about a vested interests ramping of owned shares.

Financial BBs should be about educating and enlightening, freely, honestly and openly.

I was party to the WIGGINS debacle I dont want to see that again in any shape of form.

I am so crital f the FSA they should have prosicted Tom Winnifirth for the Oliver Inny interviews which gave by chance of design, I really do know, the sentiments that things were right with Wiggins. They were not Wiggins went bust taking shareholders fund with it many life saving went to the wall.

Also your tax monies went in the form of EU grants that Wiggins direwctor falsely in my opion cliamed fro the the EU RDFs.

I made severel protestations to the various EU departments and MEPs involved in giving WIGGINS you loot, and not one did a darned thing, they were happy to lose the grant money which went to the wall with WIGGINS, as of course the tax payers were paying.

HOWEVER WHEN WE STOP LOOK FOR "FAIR PLAY" WE MAY AS WELL JUST STOP!

If you want to ban me then ban me(stating why) if not I will be back tomorrow looking for more answers on the COH/Snack Attack tie up---opps no not tomorow got a lunch meeting with with a finance director of one of my companies that I invest in.

But over the weekend.

Have a really good night and I trust you all sleep as soundly as I.

Kivver - 13 Jul 2007 10:24 - 901 of 1203

welcome to the big brother house. what is 'coh' by the way and what is the connection to WNG?? CHEERS

Bluelady - 13 Jul 2007 10:34 - 902 of 1203

Kivver,

COH is the epic for Coffee Heaven.

Connection to WNG is Worthington and certain postings.

Kivver - 13 Jul 2007 12:26 - 903 of 1203

COH AND Worthington???????? thanks bluelady I havent forgotten you.

ptholden - 13 Jul 2007 12:54 - 904 of 1203

Kivver

A certain poster is obsessed with a Mr Worthington the CEO of Coffee Heaven. This loon has made it his mission in life to 'bash' COH at every opportunity. I was curious as to whether the Worthington of WNG is one and the same, however I don't think it is. Seems that our obsessive thinks it is, which is promting his rather uninformed comments re WNG on this thread. I'll shut up about it now :)

pth

Bluelady - 13 Jul 2007 12:55 - 905 of 1203

Kivver, is that a good thing or a bad thing, lol. I see I am still confusing you ;0).

Both Coffee Heaven and Worthington Nicholls have people at the top with the surname Worthington, although that wasn't the reason why AdieH posted the posting from the COH thread on here. I am assuming he did it because of certain posters posting on both threads and he thought it was relevant in it's content.

Bluelady - 13 Jul 2007 12:57 - 906 of 1203

Ptholden,

I knew that, but I am too polite to say such a posting as yours, lol. The christian names are different for the two Worthingtons.

David10B - 13 Jul 2007 14:52 - 907 of 1203

Good afternoon all, just to clear things up a tab-----WNG AND COH HAVE NO CONNECTION THAT I AM AWARE OF.

THE FACT THAT I DONT LIKE EITHER IS, AS THEY SAY, PURELY COINCIDENTAL.

Kivver - 13 Jul 2007 16:10 - 908 of 1203

pth and bluelady thanks fot helping clear up the confusion. I wonder what the poster who doesnt like the name Worthington drinks. Do I remember a a drink called Worthington E????? I presume there is a town called worthington too!!

David10B - 13 Jul 2007 17:28 - 909 of 1203
