by the way, for anyone interested (halifax) i re-opened a position this morning in feb nymex at $41.72 on the basis that oil is likley to rise anyway, and will be helped on its way by the renewed and increased israeli aggression on gaza.

cynic who actually cares about Gaza? Do the Saudis ,Jordanians, Iraqis, Egyptians really like the Palestinians any more than the Israelis? Only Iran and Syria have any anything to gain from being involved in what for the rest of the world has become a tiresome and pointless conflict..... rather reminds us of northern ireland.

Will be interesting to see if the Sov's & Ukrainians settle their petty squabble over 'gas theft', otherwise sentiment will spill over in to the oil market. If I were cynical, I would almost concede that it was a deliberate ploy by Moscow to raise tension & therefore the price of crude.

cynic the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians has been going on since 1947 the latest action being taken by the Israelis may be used by some to ramp up the price of oil but in the longer term demand or the lack of will determine where the price goes next. We have not missed the point in what has become a pointless conflict, commonsense will prevail once those with a vested interest in this futile exercise are properly exposed by the media this includes arms suppliers, politicians on both sides, countries like Iran and Syria.

if you say so ...... however, i don't think i can recall a single instance where commonsense and politics have ever combined, nor where the media (always truthful and unbiased of course) has ever persuaded warring (literal or metaphorical) parties to bury their differences and to act like sensible and rational human beings.
