required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

It is good to have a consistent government.

Even if they don't know what they are doing one day to another.

Juncker Celebrates 200th Birthday of Karl Marx

The head of the EU, Jean-Claude Juncker celebrates the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx

Posted Apr 29, 2018 by Martin Armstrong

The head of the EU, Jean-Claude Juncker celebrates the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx in Germany. What is really stunning, is that Karl Marx is not merely the champion of Communism which he adopted from the French Commune experiment during the French Revolution, but he has ignored the little fact that no other person in history is responsible for killing tens of millions of people, more than all the wars combined, who gave their lives for his ideology.

To celebrate Karl Marx which advocates suppressing the people and taking all wealth from them and handing it to the state politicians is in itself a demonstration of exactly how the EU looks at its role today. We live in a very dangerous era for this is the collapse of Marxism and they will fight back with every ruthless means possible to save their theory of living off of other people’s money.

There was no official vote at the Cabinet Brexit sub-committee this afternoon, but one source familiar with the meeting said the room split 6-5 against the customs partnership. Crucially, two former Remain Cabinet ministers, Sajid Javid and Gavin Williamson, were critical of the customs partnership option. Saj told the room the customs partnership was unprecedented and untested and would mean we lose ability for real free trade deals. He indicated that based on the details he’d seen he would opt for Max Fac. Williamson said he had “grave concerns” about the hybrid model. Brexiter sources are bullish that they will now be able to kill off the customs partnership, claiming a majority of the room see it as unworkable. The meeting went on an hour longer than scheduled, but positive noises are coming out…

European Union governments have reacted furiously to demands from Brussels for yet more money to plug the blackhole in EU finances left by Brexit.

In plans for the first EU budget after Britain leaves, the European Commission on Wednesday demanded an increase in spending commitments to £1.13 trillion over seven years from 2021. The current budget is about £955 billion.

Leaders from richer EU countries reacted with disbelief to the plans by the EU’s civil service to increase spending despite the estimated loss of up to £13.2 billion a year from Britain.

Meanwhile, leaders the eastern bloc of EU states look set for a bitter row over a proposed 'rule of law' test tied to cash subsidies, revealed...

Theresa May 'could bypass Brexit war Cabinet to force through customs partnership plan'

Theresa May could bypass her Brexit “war Cabinet” by asking the full Cabinet to back her controversial plan for a customs partnership with Brussels, Eurosceptic ministers fear.

Mrs May has postponed plans to discuss Britain’s future customs arrangements with her 11-strong Brexit sub-committee on Thursday, having been outnumbered 6-5 last week by those who opposed the partnership idea.

As she considers her next move, Brexiteers have warned her she could face a revolt - and even a leadership contest - if she tries to steamroller opponents of the plan.

Boris Johnson has described the customs partnership proposal - which involves Britain collecting tariffs on behalf of the EU - as “crazy” but Mrs...

I don't believe that article MaxK , usual Telegraph shit stirring imo.

MaxK - 08 May 2018 19:43 - 8987 of 12628

I hope you are right Dil, but she's got form.

Dil - 09 May 2018 08:26 - 8988 of 12628

Just my belief that she wouldn't be dull enough to do something like that without the support of Boris et al.

A customs union without all the strings attached may be acceptable but then Brussels wouldn't agree to it.

It was reported last week that Germany and its people wanted to see a trade deal with the UK done sooner rather than later and was getting increasingly peed off with EU negotiators and their inflexibility.

There's hope yet of a reasonable deal and if not then just walk away and all bets are off.

Fred1new - 09 May 2018 08:36 - 8989 of 12628

Max and Dil,

It is OK.

There is still a Boris and Theresa affair about.

i wonder if Corbyn will actually start leading his party instead of being a limp lettuce
i guess its not impossible that he'll be kicked out and a more electable centrist leader put in his place

Fred1new - 09 May 2018 19:36 - 8993 of 12628

Are you sure you will last that long?

Dil - 09 May 2018 21:58 - 8994 of 12628
