Traders Thread - Week commencing Monday 04th June 2018 (TRAD)

kimoldfield - 05 Jun 2018 08:06 - 9 of 35

Good morning!

The question is, what will the government do with the money?!

skinny - 05 Jun 2018 09:49 - 10 of 35

Morning!

GBP Services PMI 54.0 52.9 52.8

CC - 05 Jun 2018 10:05 - 11 of 35

Since they are borrowing about £40b a year, raising a couple of billion means they "only" have to borrow £38b in cash terms.

Our country is still screwed until we can stop borrowing more and more money imho. how you persuade the electorate that the government needs to continue to be weaned off credit is most problematic.

CC - 05 Jun 2018 15:19 - 12 of 35

Government need the £20b from RBS to buy this;

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44372011

HMRC chief Jon Thompson has defended his £20bn estimate of the cost to businesses of the post-Brexit customs system favoured by leading Brexiteers.

He told MPs that a technology-based system - dubbed the "max fac" solution - would cost businesses a similar amount to leaving the EU with no deal.

There or there abouts now.

A conclusive move through would be helpful

CC - 06 Jun 2018 21:37 - 20 of 35

Dow up about 180 since our close and ftse being called up by IG by 15.

Might be worth a punt although I can't be bothered to work out if IG has already gone XD after our close and what the oil and cable impact is.

skinny - 07 Jun 2018 09:09 - 25 of 35

I wish I'd taken the FTSE short!!

skinny - 07 Jun 2018 09:16 - 26 of 35

What Brexit? Investors warm to UK stocks as M&A surges

CC - 07 Jun 2018 10:44 - 27 of 35

I wish I'd closed my LLOY CFD long when FTSE was at 7767!

All very strange. Selling off LLOY but significant buying on RBS. Like they are switching from one to another?

skinny - 07 Jun 2018 10:52 - 28 of 35

Unfortunately I hold quite a lot of LLOY whereas I only have RBS on a recent S/B.
