Time now for all us Wiggins watchers to move with the times and start using Planestation, the new company identity. The name Wiggins Group plc has now disappeared from the database at Companies House and Planestation is now listed on the LSE website.

So fellow travellers, forget Wiggins, the name of the game is now PLANESTATION. Lets hope it goes like an express train.

I hear that Exeter Airport is up for sale.

Perhaps PTG will buy it.

Whilst you may be right, KIA might be coining it in as a result of the EUjet flights. We'll just have to wait and see what the figures are. Unfortunately it will another couple of months before the CAA stats are released so unless PTG give some indication of throughput we are as mushrooms.

Spiral dive!! easy to correct but needs the necessary action, I think Mr May has taken PTG too close to the ground to pull out. Unless of course if lots of freight starts arriving through the BIP, If Liverpool Garden Site returns some realistic money, after all one and a half million is a laugh for that site even as a down payment and of course if EU jet achieves realistic load levels, 7 flights + taxes is not going to make a lot of profit (obviously just trying to fill seats, but if you need to sell seats at 7 not many passengers are paying an economical fare) IF, IF, IF. If only one IF were to be satisfied it would be some comfort to shareholders. I have lost confidence here and I am out.

Here I am in sunny Malaysia watching PTG dive. Never mind though PRE is compensating for me. Back in another week, look after PTG for me.

EUJET DOUBLES THE REASONS TO FLY FROM KENT

New low fares airline EUjet has today (4 October) nearly doubled the number of routes it flies from Kent International Airport. The move is part of a phased expansion programme and follows the successful launch of first services on 1 September.

EUjet is introducing seven new routes and will now operate from Kent to 15 UK and European destinations. Further expansion will see this number rise to 20 by the end of the year.

New services to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and Madrid begin today with flights to Shannon, Malaga and Palma starting at the weekend.

Speaking about the new routes PJ McGoldrick, Chief Executive of EUjet, said: Today is another exciting day for EUjet, as it represents another step in the airline's planned route expansion to a range of UK and European destinations from Kent International. The first month of operation has gone well and the reaction of passengers is overwhelmingly positive.

"We are regularly receiving compliments on the quality of our Fokker 100 fleet and in particular the spacious seating. Passengers also like the ease of using Kent International Airport, with easy road access, no queues and with good value parking. Repeat business is key for us and we are already building up a loyal following of travellers.

"Our new internal UK flights to Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh are being eagerly awaited by both business and leisure travellers. The business traveller will be now able to make same day return trips from either end, with sufficient time to take care of business at his destination.

EUjet will be launching a further five new destinations catering mainly for the skiing market, with flights to Geneva, Salzburg, Turin, Toulouse and Zurich taking off before Christmas.

PJ McGoldrick adds: "The doubling of EUjets routes gives travellers in Kent, South East London and the South East of England a new and hassle-free way to fly to European and UK destinations.

"We believe that once people have tried out the service, which puts the pleasure back in low fares travel, they will come back time and time again."

EUjet will now operate a fleet of five Fokker 100 aircraft from Kent International. Further European services are also being run from Shannon Airport in parallel with the Kent flight programme.

When I arrived at Cannon Street station this morning saw quite a few advertising posters for EUJet

I saw your post in the Cafe. Yes I did see the numbers posted by the localspy. I thought they were quite promising considering they have so far only targetted the local market with their advertising. Now they are widening their scope, both with advertising and destinations, the situation could get quite interesting.

There was always a risk that KIA might make a profit but EUjet could die on it's feet, that risk is reduced with a JV. Even if the JV only breaks even, Manston ceases to be a cash drain on PTG's slim resources.

I would be interested to know the extent of any advertising going on at the other ends of EUjet's routes. If they can get some regular 2-way traffic rather than just Kent based catchment it would help enormously.

Will watch PTG from the sidelines with interest. I lost out on my last sojourn into the stock after a profit on the first, overall I am at a loss.
I don't follow the "I'll get even with you" policy but if I consider that PTG is back on the road to sucess I will jump on board again. At the moment it seems to me to be in a huge cash burn situaton with not a lot of friends in the market.
I hope I am wrong for current holders but I do think PTG could have a way to fall unless somethings happens to change the present position. Like less competition in the air travel industry, take over or just some good news.
Which? I am not prepared to bet on any at the moment.

In case anyone missed it, MK Airlines the freight operator who recently moved out of Manston, lost a Boeing 747 aircraft when it crashed on take-off. The crash occurred in Nova Scotia and there has been much speculation about the cause. Please don't fall into the trap of making assumptions like the media have, air crash investigations are long, thorough and very detailed, I know I've been there. Read the link for the details:

I'm sure there will be some discussions, the freight figure is not a patch on those achieved previously. However, though small it might represent a much more profitable turnover.

Passengers, not bad IMO for the first, albeit incomplete, month of operation.

Nobody knows for sure what is going on with PTG due to the dearth of information coming from the company. What we do know is that in September Manston had a throughput of 13,605 passengers.

For a first month of operation of an unknown operator from an airport that had never had scheduled services before I think that is quite respectable.

It is only my opinion, but I believe that if the figures improve and there are already more services running, there will be a sudden turnaround in how PTG is perceived in the market.
