Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

I think De Gaulle when he said "Non" in 1963 was right!
It would have saved the rest of Europe an awful lot of hassle.
He recognised that the Little Englanders were outsiders and didn't really belong in Europe and couldn't realised that they had lost their Empire and hadn't accepted it.
-=-==-=
But looking back, I thought the rapidity of increase in the number of states was going to be a problem and thought it may have been more sensible to allow admission at a slower rate to give time for the change of rules and bedding down of new "partners".
But what is done is done.
If the EU is to succeed there is bound to be more integration of many institutions into central bodies with "local" representation.
But whether the time to do so is now with the "World instability" is questionable.
But, it would be reasonable to question what is beneficial to the society as a "whole" rather than the details of one's own personal pockets financially.

World instability ??
Geez it's as stable now as it's ever been since the Second World War. It's never going to be perfect but name a five year period when it was head and shoulders better ?
Is your glass always half empty Fred ?

And I think de Gaulie was a cheeky fecker black balling us after what we had done for him and his country.
Little England is nothing compared to Little France.

The Cap is a bit too brash for my liking, Cyners - I'm quite liberal, but bare bums in the supermarket and live sex shows on the beach really aren't my cup of tea.
Serignan and Cabanes de Fleury are by far the best beaches on that stretch of coast - they're never too busy, and that's where all the locals go to cool off. It's always a few degrees cooler on the coast and the sea breeze is nice. At 7am it was 42 in the sun by the pool, and it got up to 49 one afternoon in the week.

confess i quickly get bored sitting on a beach almost regardless of the "scenery", and sit in the shade too
many moons ago, on a golfing break in that area, we stopped for lunch in Arcangues (Auberge d'Achtal)
not only was the lunch excellent, but the village is interesting being still effectively feudal, and the church had a lovely painted wood barrel nave
worth a visit for some peace and quiet :-)

Looking at that march yesterday hils the conclusion I came to was over 13 million remain voters just want us to get on with it.
Cracking weather here too in the valleys and even though I spent the first 25 years of my life 2 minutes from the beach at Barrybados to this day I still hate the sand , gets bloody everywhere.
Enjoy your day , take a camera and post some pics. Might cheer Fred up :-)

Theresa is doing well.
I understand the Con party's supposed leader is going to sort out the UK's Brexit problems in Brussels today.
Apparently can make a 2mins speech during the coffee break.

I do hope the bill for the negotiations can be sent to Tory Party's Central Office.
