Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Brexit bad news!
BAE Systems lands £20bn deal to build ships for Australian navy
By Alan Tovey, Industry Editor
28 June 2018 • 7:24pm
BAE Systems has won a £20bn contract to build frigates that will form the backbone of the Australian navy, beating off rival proposals from Italian and Spanish groups for the biggest naval defence deal of the past decade.
The contract win will see BAE supply nine vessels based on the Type 26 frigate design currently under construction for the Royal Navy.
Prime Minister Theresa May called the agreement an example of the kind of trade deals the UK can secure – especially with Commonwealth nations – as the country prepares for Brexit.
“We have always been clear that as we leave the EU we have an opportunity to build on our close relationships with allies like Australia," she said.

Bloomberg:
One EU PM Said to Find May’s Approach Alarming (5:11 p.m.)
An EU prime minister sitting around the summit table said he was alarmed by the tone of Theresa May’s words on Brexit, according to an official he briefed on the discussion. He left the meeting thinking that the risk of a “no deal” Brexit had increased from about 20 percent to nearly 50 percent, the official said, after May talked of the real possibility of the talks collapsing.

The Irish border is still a major stumbling point.....even if there is no hard border, with the help of modern technology : a checking of goods criss-crossing the border must be installed...I mean this is the time to bring in within a time frame (a few years..)...a newly designed state of the art customs-check for the border....this could be exported to other countries worldwide.....sort of thing enabling an instant check of a lorry crossing the border ….something like that.....

Best stay around the pool Hilary. I haven't seen any portuguese in mine. Few that can speak portuguese though. Amazing how the kids keep calling round, even after work. Mine is a steady 20c at the moment thanks to solar. Haven't used the boiler for years.
Shows like love-island and the rest of the so called reality shows are for cretins rf. Or people from Essex. Keep seeing mention in various newspapers but must admit I don't even know what channel it is on.

No C, 20. I find anything much warmer is unpleasant. Unless you are taking a bath or in one of those deck things. The timer for the pump heat exchanger is set for 11 to 7 pm. You need to man up. :) keeps the algae down as well.

30, Cyners??? Blimey. That must be like a bath. We just use a solar panel to heat ours, and 20 or thereabouts is perfect.
Iturama,
Those jelly-thingies often wash up on the local beaches here in the summer. As the day passes, they dry out and deflate in the sun. From looking like an inflated balloon in the morning, they end up like an empty carrier bag by mid-afternoon.

30 is lovely, though i'ld tolerate 25/27 ...... at 30 mthe grandchildren can then stay in it for a long time - and i don't mean with lead weights round their ankles
30 is still a fair bit colder than the Arabian Gulf
