I would like to see a rns from SEO saying Northern foods are useing Greenseal, with Asda dumping Ferndale the company that did the trials and if Northern Foods are not useing Greenseal then this would be very bad news for SEO and for us holders of SEO shares.

Carclo and Stanelco combine to replace gelatine capsules

By Julie Bieles 12/09/2005

The pair have developed a starch-based polymer for edible applications.

12 September 2005 UK companies Stanelco and Carclo have developed a starch-based hardshell capsule for edible applications including dietary supplements and pharmaceutical uses.

Carclo Technical Plastics has manufactured the capsules using a polymer blend developed by Stanelco subsidiaries Adept Polymers and Biotec Holding Group. The capsules are being developed as an economically viable alternative to gelatine.

Work to bring the new hardshell technology to market is ongoing, said Stanelco. The starch-based material and the manufacturing process could lead to lower production costs than for gelatine capsules, it said.

Other advantages of the starch-based capsules include greater heat and humidity resistance, and easier filling, according to the company.

Paul

Is laser technology involved in the capsule manufacture?

Cheers

Dormar Hi,

The capsule halves are injection moulded, and are then welded together using laser. Check the details in the pdf from the link in my previous post :)

Let it stream, or right-click and 'save as', it's quite small at 5.59 MB

Auto Hi,

There will be a 1 party soon, you can easily convince yourself, just read Drivers research page(click his house icon), or the last 12 months of Stanelco RNS's and Business Wire's, or the EVO or KBC notes, or the lemminginvestor, RHPS, Trendwatch, Investors Chronicle, and Shares Mag tips, or even my website, which is nearly at 10,000 visits since March 2005 :)

Hi /Paul

Been to your website several times, very imformative it is to, with this product being so good, and ASDA having a years head start i would have thought they would have had more M/C converted by now as it benifits the supplyer as well as them, as i said earlier hope Northern Foods are going to use greenseal

Auto Hi,

If you were ASDA, and you were offering a 30m contract for tender, and you had exclusive rights for one year on Greenseal, and you were testing Starpol 2000, and you already had a company called Ferndale using Greenseal on your products, would you :-

A) Only give the contract to Ferndale ?

B) Only give the contract to a competitor, if they agreed to also use Greenseal and possibly Starpol 2000, on all products that formed part of the contract ?

C) Give the contract to anyone using heat sealing, and laminated, oil based plastic, even though you knew Greenseal and Starpol 2000 was going to improve your products shelf-life and quality, and be cheaper, especially with rising oil prices, and be free advertising based on the environmental benefits and improved quality ?

Also Tony Ruane said the food packaging industry had been waiting for Greenseal for 35 years, do you think he would let it be delayed any longer ?

Cheers,
PM

Auto Hi,

"The appointment follows ASDAs decision to re-launch its ready meals range this coming autumn with new recipes and .... new packaging .... "

We know what it is, were just waiting for the RNS to confirm it :)
