Hi everybody,
Just closed the long from yesterday and taken out some shorts. I think shall fulfill both before the day is out as we had quite a down slide yesterday. Also this is the end of the 3rd qtr and beginning of the 4th qtr so be careful with your trades and watch the stoplosses etc. Generally if Sept was a good month then Oct seems to be a downer especialy in the opening weeks. So my personal scheme is Shorts will be the main operatives.

Zarif...Hi...been a hell of a day...

Been a good day today, closed 10conrts of my ftse long contracts which I mis calculated yesterday...at 4158...kept 5 pounds long from 4158...

DOW longs closed and gone short at 4359 at $10-P ($10 a point), have a feeling it may close around 4330 or drop back there or finish at 4380...any thoughts?

Still learning though...

I Just closed a Long at 9360 - a 100pt gain at 15/pt. I have tagen a short from 9363 DEC DOW and now going to wait. I usually find that in the frequency of trades make more money in shorting than on longs. You are quite right what goes up must come down - unless it flies and sometimes the market does give us a kick in our egos.


jules remember bank as much money as you can and dont get greedy if you are happy with what you have in front of you take it and stay in cash as at the end of the day CASH IS KING.

eg: How much money do you need to open ann account etc???

Just started on CFD a week ago, been doing a lot reserach into them..go to htpp://www.cmcplc.com/cfd/index.asp

for an insight... allows you to trade on margin...very high risk if you do not know how to money manage...or understand derivatives

My a/c is small, but is more than enough for my purposes...

As I write I think Dow just going Sideways at 9395-9405...Boring...!!!

Open positions now are DAX- long from 9325 - that was a mistake yesterday...Wont be trading DAX again...weird one...thankfully came up today,,,

FTSE long 5 pound-P from 4159...+10...will close out a/m...

DOW 2 shorts in place now...9359 - 9383 which I dont see a major problem...

I Closed the Long off at 9476 ( gain 80pts @10/pt) and the 2 shorts one opening at 9439 and 9460 close both at 9400 -- 99 pt @ 10/pt: So i think the skeletons in the cupboard can rattle. But I have agut feeling that tomorrow it will take a nose dive with the jobless figures coming out???
What do u reckon and what do u want to tell me besides to get lost

I can't believe what happened earlier on. My account with Deal4free has dropped from 800-odd quid down to 6.81, and I didn't even have a bet open!!!

What is going on here?! Anyone else had this problem?

I phone Deal4free and they said it was a 'software problem' (after having tried about four times and having them hang up on me). Naturally I was worried that they had gone bust and were shifting the money over to Tel Aviv or something...Apparently not...But I still haven't got the money back in my account yet.

They've admitted that the amount I specified should be in there, but the action hasn't been completed yet. Dodgy or what? I didn't go furious with them, but that is highly irregular. I'm surprised nobody else has posted about this today...

I'm glad dow finished positive...morning FTSE stocks will power ahead, allowing me take a higher profits...ARM and COLT, reuters should again fly tmorr early.

Pleased to see it finish 4209 - 4235/40 is goal.

DOW - short from 9465 -I agree dow will dive at some point on profit take
back to 9350 at least intraday before second attempt to rise....

DAX- long from 3330 -was mistake- small potatoes at stake but u learn...such a boring index to follow...

My prediction from the crystal ball is that Dow is going to inch up and than (hopefully) with the jobless figures and farmers figures come in should take a nose dive -around 9230 would be a great weekend

I have absolutely no idea what the Dow will do today.

Maybe it will drop on Monday, so I heard.

My god did you see the dow spike up about 60-80pts at 13.30gmt _ guys be very careful today as that can eat us up in one swoop. I am down 3000 at present.

I am alright as I had not put stop losses on and was just watching the screen when it spiked up.I had 2 shorts opening at 9439 10/pt and 9415 at 5/pt.
I had a long at 2/pt opening at 9430: Any way After that i opened 2 more shorters from the 9600 and 9590 and am waiting:

Update tonite chaps...short from 9651...madness right now...195 +18 +190 at one stage I thnk....madness...

Its lost the plot...catch it while u can...

I would probably take the long good run..and cash is king...

No more shorts now unless it hits 9800 next week...which I doubt...think it will close lower around 9610...
