Forgot to write, "This is a Investor's, Traders and Gambler's club " not a "Train Spotter's Club", although from time to time, some suspicious characters do turn up.

Stan, It would be nice to see 5501 on Saturday.

He is unusually quiet.

What is he up to now?

Stan - 04 Apr 2008 16:34 - 935 of 1427

Certainly would like to see 55 tomorrow as I'm sure it's his round -):

"Wrexham & Shropshire's trains are currently being refitted to exacting standards by a specialist firm in Stoke-on-Trent. The refurbished trains will offer passengers a modern, comfortable travelling environment once completed this summer. In the meantime, to allow leisure and business travellers to take advantage of the new service as soon as possible, the company is hiring trains for use from 28 April for the first few months of operation."
---------------------------------------------

Passenger group the Wrexham and Shrewsbury Rail Users Association last night welcomed the new route. But said they thought journey times mostly more than four hours were too long.

------------------------------------------

The Wrexham to London Euston train service will join the Virgin Trains network from December this year, the train operator has announced....

.... Journey time between Wrexham and London will be around two-and-a half-hours, Virgin claims.

PS: Presume it's Marcroft Engineering in Stoke that are doing the refurbishment?

Stan - 05 Apr 2008 10:44 - 939 of 1427

OK Fred, just setting off see you there.

Thanks for the links Chris, will have a gander later.
