Well its been a nice blue start for me with RTD and theres a nice blue sky outside so im feeling good this morning. Likely to be a pretty quiet day generally with the US shut though.

Socrates - 05 Jul 2004 08:55 - 9221 of 23498

Hello! The blue sky has gone, it must be an evil omen - should we sacrifice a virgin or something?

Socrates - 05 Jul 2004 09:06 - 9222 of 23498

It worked, the sacrifice worked, the sun came out again. Couldn't find a virgin to sacrifice so threw a cup of tea at next doors cat, not at it you understand, just near it. Can't have next doors cat digging holes in one's garden can one? Bad enough when one's own cat does it!

hilary - 05 Jul 2004 11:03 - 9223 of 23498

If you've got a few days holiday, Old Socs, why don't you e-mail Ian or Mike at MoneyAM and ask if there's any possibility of trying the premium services foc for the week?

:o)

Socrates - 05 Jul 2004 11:17 - 9224 of 23498

Hilary
How lovely, that's a good idea but I will not be at home all that much this week but next hols week I will definitely give it a go. Are you trading today, seems a bit quiet on my shares?

hilary - 05 Jul 2004 11:23 - 9225 of 23498

I've finished for the day, Old Socs. Bought the greenback at 7am against the European majors. Cable was a bit iffy from the word go and didn't want to die, but the Swissie and the Euro have done me ok and I've now closed them out because the Yanks have got the day off and I expect the action to fizzle out.

Socrates - 05 Jul 2004 11:50 - 9226 of 23498

Nice one Hilary, see you tomorrow.

Golddog - 05 Jul 2004 13:18 - 9227 of 23498

Don't mind me, i'm just passing through with a sweeping brush!
lift your legs up socks. ta
nice clean and tidy is how i like it.

Socrates - 05 Jul 2004 14:39 - 9228 of 23498

Thanks Golddog, the truck is coming round soon to collect the empty Bods cans. I hope they send a big one.

stockbunny - 05 Jul 2004 14:43 - 9229 of 23498

Afternoon Chaps and Chappesses,
Brockman - I've send you an email privately - well actually two,
as after I sent the first one I read further down the posts in the
tea Rooms that you were a girl (which I didn't realise) hence the
second email to right the gender error in the first! In short, you are
obviously a very strong and caring mum - huge respect for you from the bunny here.

Stormcaller - Yippee!! Well done for extracting money from the Inland
Revenue, not an easy task!!

Socco - A weeks holiday? Well I've had a word with Mrs. Socco and she says
you've definitely got time to re-paint the outside of the Tea-Rooms in
between doing all the jobs she has lined up for you....(hee-hee!)

GD!!! Hello you lovely Mutt you!!! I've specially bought in Diamond Dogs
for the CD player - a true classic!!!

Opto!!! Now then Sir...you've retired now and NO sign of you in the Tea-rooms!
Really..now I hope you have a good excuse ;>) (giggle)

Socrates - 05 Jul 2004 14:49 - 9230 of 23498

stockbunny
You're a cad madam, well a cadess at any rate. But I am not concerned, Mrs Socco, bless her, has already tendered the list of to-dos and it is not onerous. She knows I deserve a good rest from my travail.

stockbunny - 05 Jul 2004 15:44 - 9231 of 23498

Hee-hee couldn't resist it Socco!! Can I buy you a beer or whatever
it is you partake of at this hour of the day??

optomistic - 05 Jul 2004 16:04 - 9232 of 23498

Hi Bunny, Been visting for the weekend and no PC access. Just got back now, checked the Premium Bonds and find I have won 100 :-)) Ironically I posted the Bonds to cash them in this morning. Glad to see you are all having a great time in here today, think I will have a cup of tea please, too early for the other stuff.

Socrates - 05 Jul 2004 16:25 - 9233 of 23498

stockbunny
With the sun over the yard-arm it must be time for tiffin.

stockbunny - 05 Jul 2004 16:29 - 9234 of 23498

Opto - good for you on the premium bonds!! Life is nothing but ironic
at times...
Socco - tiffin...???(hmmm bunny scratches ears and tries to look intelligent..)

the bunny heads for the kitchen....) giggle

stockbunny - 05 Jul 2004 16:56 - 9235 of 23498

The Team Investment Game:

Right this is what i have come up with. I am going to put everyone who i deem eligible to play this game into teams of my choosing. If a certain person is put into a team but does not want to participate then that person need not do anything.

From these teams i will choose a team leader who will post the teams decision to what they want to invest in.

There will be about 6,7,8 people in a team and you will need to talk amongst yourselves either on the thread or secretly via email to each other. There will be only about 4 teams.

The game will begin end of july and your team must choose between 1 to 10 ftse stocks to invest your funds.

The game will last till end of the year and every new month the team can make a trade transaction. sell and buy a new stock.

The team with the biggest profit end of year wins the game.

Teams begin with 1 million

more details will come soon.

Big Al - 05 Jul 2004 20:56 - 9239 of 23498

Evening.

Been making some homemade lemonade. Won't be ready until tomorrow, but should prove a worthy companion to the nice Tequila I've got sitting! ;-))
