CMS Webview What is the potential for this share ? (CWV)

GEOFFREY.R - 01 Nov 2003 16:46

I bought shares in this company at 4.5p in September 2003. I see they are rising. Can anyone tell me please the growth potential for this company as they have just been awarded several new contracts ?

neosenti - 04 Dec 2003 18:23 - 923 of 1924

amrishbhim, I take your point and share your optimism but what makes you think the price will rise to 22p by christmas?

neosenti - 04 Dec 2003 18:25 - 924 of 1924

Sue, apart from the black line dropping well below the red line, what do these graphs tell you?

game_boy - 04 Dec 2003 18:29 - 925 of 1924

One of the questions for most people seriously following CWV... is what are the H2 results likely to be.....and how bullish may they be in any trading statement accompanying the funding RNS.....

Its probably worth spending a few minutes getting collective views on this......this is just back of fag packet stuff and I'll probably get accused of further ramping by the mob......but will get my calculator and spreadsheet out later..so watch out axe !!!

What do we know from the facts announced in June interims:

H1 results...Jan-Jun 03....

*Turnover rose by 55% to #905,000 (2002: #583,000)

*Losses before tax reduced by 66% to #116,000 (2002: #345,000)

*Successful sales of proprietary TDI architecture for futures and options
data feeds to the two largest futures and options exchanges in the USA,
(Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT))

*3 new clients signed for wholesale Digital Data Feed (DDF)

*9 new clients won following exclusive UK distribution agreement signed
with Data Transmission Network, Inc (DTN), a major USA-based price data
vendor

Since June it is all speculation....but my assumptions of timing of H2 key events and revenue:

Contract with CBOT was announced 04/04/03....and eCBOT was launched on 23/11/03...so in my view the bulk of the revenue for license, development, project mgmt would not be in the H1 results and will appear in H2...

Speculation based on printed sources is that a typical TDI licence fee is 500k+...plus development, implementation and project mgmt fees on top of that...plus annual support & maintenance..plus any other ancillary devpt they pick up on the back of the first contract.....so again IMO this could easily be 750k-1m revenue for CBOT alone.....the majority of which will be billed during H2.....

Plus the traditional Data Feed business..which generated 42%(507k) of their revenue in 02..so lets say another 250-300k in H2 03

Plus Data Management services..which generated 19% (229k) of 02 revenue...so lets say 125-150k in H2 03

We know that since June...CWV has signed another 6 ProphetX accounts...with all 15 generating revenue of circa 200 per terminal per month..of which CWV retain "a significant percentage of annual revenues from UK ProphetX sales reflecting its investment in the sales, marketing and customer support operations in the UK." Lets say an avg. 5 terminals per client = 15000 per month revenue for CWV from this month, up from 9000p/m in July when CWV started to market the product in the UK...so let's say 70k new revenue from ProphetX in H2 of which say 50% is retained by CWV and 50% paid back to TDN..

Plus Consultancy which accounted for 2% of 02 revenue...so lets say another 15k for this in H2 03

So H2 could be in my view revenue of between 1.2-1.5m...depending on the TDI element which is the hardest to predict...could be much more or less...

Assuming they keep their cost base stable at under 1m they are set to make EBIT of 200-500k for H2...following a loss of 116k for H1.....

The bit we can't see but the directors will be focusing on strongly with institutions at the moment...is the pipeline and revenue potential for TDI in the US/Europe/Asia...as well as ProphetX in UK and Europe....

That's where their negotiating leverage is in getting the best price in the placing....look at their track record....money from floatation invested wisely to develop products and clients....company close to or even past break even after 3 of the toughest years for tech stocks....major opportunity to increase revenue and margins with both TDI and ProphetX...all still looking good to me...

Appreciate your thoughts....positive ones only of course !!!

Hi all,

I was at university today and that was the only reason for my absence today. I feel there is not much for me to add now as I have provided everything in the public domain and it seems that my efforts have not been worthwhile for most of you. I have provided as much as information as I could and I have tried my very hardest to keep everybody informed but sometimes patience is needed. However, I would hope that others can provide with some better research in the future as well I have been branded everything for not judging the fall back. I am not a full-time trader so I can't keep up to date with the prices on certain days.
I am disappointed and heartbroken to see all this written about me. I suppose all I can do is let the next person research information for everyone and spend hours researching everything.

I am a holder and will stay a holder as nothing has changed for me and will only even think about selling at circa 50 pence.

I hope you do show the appreciation once my research becomes a reality when all the good news comes out.

I hope I could be more useful in the future.

Have a very good evening all.

Best of luck.

Sue.

And for the benefit of SueHelen...a post I made on another BB today...to answer similar criticism...it may seem harsh to the more novice investors...but please do heed its advice !!

After reading some of the posts today which seem to be criticising myself and others who have tried over the past few weeks to understand the potential of CWV as a business...as well as understand the short term trading activity driven by the Shares magazine tip....news on funding...mm behaviour...etc etc.... I feel like there should be a standard piece of text automatically added by advfn's famous text editor....to every post that anyone places on this BB and all others...that says something like....

DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU READ ON THESE BB'S.....DON'T MAKE ANY DECISIONS BASED ON THEM...DON'T THANK OR BLAME ANYONE ELSE IF A SHARE YOU BOUGHT WENT UP OR DOWN AFTER YOU BOUGHT IT....BECAUSE NOBODY ON THIS BB MADE YOU PRESS THE BUY OR SELL BUTTON...YOU DID IT BECAUSE YOU HAVE A BRAIN OF YOUR OWN....IF YOU DON'T FEEL CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS WITH YOUR OWN MONEY....DON'T TRADE SHARES COS ITS A RISKY BUSINESS... ALL OF US CAN LOSE MONEY AS FAST AS WE CAN MAKE IT...IF WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING !!

game_boy - 04 Dec 2003 18:35 - 928 of 1924

and one more....then that's enough for me today !!

the same applies to making money....its funny how people expect to follow a crowd in the hope they know what they're doing....crowd behaviour is very different from being a trader....for all you guys know I could have sold my whole position at 18p and be waiting to buy it back at 10p..or 8p..or 6p..or whatever...

I might...for all you know be in full support of all those who come on here to try to talk it down....for all I know they might be right....make your own minds up guys...don't blame words typed on a BB....I might be a computer programmed just to throw some apparently sensible words together all day across BB's !!!

For goodness sake everyone who reads these boards.....don't make serious decisions about money you can't afford to lose based on a hope that someone else on here a) knows what they are talking about and b) is telling the truth...

And for all those who have sold or have doubts today because of what others have said on here...I hope you come back and give them a good kicking when the price goes back up again...

snowballroller - 04 Dec 2003 18:37 - 929 of 1924

Why i get a EDIT every time i sent a post? Did i pressed the wrong button?
In my investing system,once i`m in a stock,(`cos after DMOR),as it's price gains 20 or 30%,i just
released my original capital, and let the profit(20%or30% worth of Eqts.)runs,
If my entry point is good enough,i can finish the job in a shorter time frame,
otherwise i may wait longer, 8p ,10p? who care! Good market analysis doesn`t
mean/guarantee you make right decision every time!!!

thestatusquo - 04 Dec 2003 19:50 - 930 of 1924

Game boy you have my respect. A thoroughly well reasoned post! That's all i've been bangin' on about. Debate, not ramping etc.

Suehelen, your provision of information for everyone has been first class. My criticism of your posts were that you presented your information in a such a way that you set unrealistic price targets without realistic profit forecasts.

Please dont go away Sue. Gameboy, Momentum and others have now started the debate. A real debate. So lets get involved for the longer term and help each other spot buy and SELL signals for this stock.

"Happy to watch" can you get me tickets to a MM Christmas party! Your posts made me laugh on what has been a shi**y day.

ajren - 04 Dec 2003 19:52 - 931 of 1924

Hi SueHelen,

I,and I am sure all of us,do not want you .....to feel heartbroken : your words.

I have constantly criticised you for only one thing i.e.HYPE.

You have put in countless hours analysing, etc and generally done an exceptionally good job.

HYPE :- If you feel the price will go up to 50 p before Christmas that is o.k.
But why tell everyone else and effectively invite them to throw stones at
you?

Why HYPE?What do you gain by repeatedly saying it will go up to 50p?Why did
you simply not do a great job and let the price determine itself ?You could
have given all your info and let the readers decide for themselves what they
want to do.

Sharetrading has the capacity to bankrupt people.New traders can look starry
eyed at 50 p and Buy immediately at 15 p.How much will they have lost if they
feel they have to sell at e.g.10p ?

Best wishes,aj

Any agreement on an earnings target for May04?

Cigarette packet calcs:-

?200,000-300,000 profits. P/e of 40 perhaps. Market cap ?10-12million. Equating to price target of 16-20p?

Perhaps pushing towards 20p at results if forthcoming fundraising results in sales increase in run in to May04.

momentum - 04 Dec 2003 20:32 - 933 of 1924

On balance volume has been falling during the recent decline. Indicating a lot of the buyers on the way up have not been selling. Very positive for a rebound back to the recent highs. My bible 5 indicators are all showing slightly over sold conditions. Next week should be more positive.

On a near term note, anybody any thoughts on placing price if price continues to drift lower.

Uncertainty seems to breed uncertainty?

momentum - 04 Dec 2003 20:37 - 935 of 1924

If profits are due to grow at 200% plus for the next 3-4 years then we could trade on a forward pe of 100, in 2006 we could have a market cap of 150 - 200 Million.

game_boy - 04 Dec 2003 20:39 - 936 of 1924

thestatusquo & ajren.....only replying together for speed...but the points need to be made....

1. Market cap comparisons and justifications can be made in a number of ways...we all know that...there is no precise science for it...no matter what any of us have learned in business/finance schools..the market decides market cap...and the market is a fickle tool

2. SueHelen's view of 50p....is her own view...which she is entitled to without critiscism or having to justify it...the market will decide that...in the same way it has decided the mkt cap of YOO, ZOO, NPG and all those others at 20-30m I listed previously as comparisons to CWV at a mkt cap of today some 5m..

3.thestatusquo...go run your analysis on all of my list previously put up here and tell me what mkt cap your analysis says !!! Then think again on your estimates for CWV ??

thestatusquo - 04 Dec 2003 20:44 - 937 of 1924

stay cool gameboy! sniping not good!

tried to civilise this chat. Dont throw it back in my face!

game_boy - 04 Dec 2003 20:51 - 938 of 1924

thestatusquo.....I'm the ice man...believe me !!

But you were trying to justify price/mkt cap in a way that I choose to question....politely I assure you...don't be so sensitive...I normally live in a more aggressive world so my tone can perhaps be misunderstood...for that I apologise as I am a gentleman....

ntk98 - 04 Dec 2003 22:16 - 939 of 1924

What will happen if a TDI news contract arrive soon or in January? Most companies try to close sale\contract before the tax year end, or finalcial quater end, for bonus etc.

Could it be something to look forward too? No ramp of course
