Planestation (Ex Wiggins Group plc) (PTG)

Socrates - 10 Jan 2004 10:34

Time now for all us Wiggins watchers to move with the times and start using Planestation, the new company identity. The name Wiggins Group plc has now disappeared from the database at Companies House and Planestation is now listed on the LSE website.

So fellow travellers, forget Wiggins, the name of the game is now PLANESTATION. Lets hope it goes like an express train.

Nobody knows for sure what is going on with PTG due to the dearth of information coming from the company. What we do know is that in September Manston had a throughput of 13,605 passengers.

For a first month of operation of an unknown operator from an airport that had never had scheduled services before I think that is quite respectable.

It is only my opinion, but I believe that if the figures improve and there are already more services running, there will be a sudden turnaround in how PTG is perceived in the market.

CAA provisional statistics for September 04 show KIA
as having moved 13743 passengers and had 494 flights.

apro/27passengers per flight BIG DEAL////

Socrates - 08 Nov 2004 18:09 - 928 of 1086

bristlelad
Don't make assumptions that you cannot justify, nobody said they were all passenger flights, quite a few were freighters. Just how many we will have to wait to find out.

Socrates - 08 Nov 2004 18:51 - 929 of 1086

RNS posted, notice of interim results date.

jeffmack - 08 Nov 2004 20:55 - 930 of 1086

Better short them quick. 20p here we come

Socrates - 09 Nov 2004 17:15 - 931 of 1086

Jeffmack
You can short them if you like Jeff. 8% spread not a good start though.

New news on PTG, head office to relocate to Manston Airport in a shared facility with EUjet, relocating from Shannon.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/3994171.stm

There is also news that Air Atlantic has applied for planning permission for a 1.8 hectare warehouse facility on the Manston Business Park. Now why would they want that I wonder?

Get that short in quick Jeffmack, but be very, very careful!

jeffmack - 09 Nov 2004 17:57 - 933 of 1086

Socs
Does that mean they have cashed in the Mayfair office and transferred Mr May to a portacabin at an airfield that carries about 20 passengers a day.

Socrates - 09 Nov 2004 18:17 - 934 of 1086

Jeffmack
In September your 20 passengers a day was actually 509 per day average over the 27 days of EUjetservices.

You can't wind me up, I've been wound up by experts, LOL.

According to the the PTG website the following funds have bought
(41.6%of) PTG.

Major Shareholders Date Amount
Prudential PLC 5/7/2004 22,131,863
% Holding 14.91
Artemis Fund Managers Ltd 4/10/2004 17,076,639
% Holding 10.96
Harlequin Holdings Limited 5/7/2004 7,648,410

% Holding 3.51
Legal & General Investment Management Limited 1/10/2004 5,017,396
% Holding 3.22

As we have not seen any announcement from any major shareholder of any reduction in shareholding, then I can only imagine that the majority of dealings are small shareholders.
My conclusion is that ALL the fund managers are content to hold.
Draw your own conclusions.
Good Luck
Eddie

At the end of the day there will always be people who dont want this operation (EUJET) to succeed for what ever reason. I do know that a friend of my family was on a return trip from Edinburgh and a well known carrier had less passengers on board going to LHR. Its swings and roundabouts but if managed propely this operation will succeed. Also EUjet came to Manston towards the end of the summer (a bad time really) so if they can whether the winter period ,come next spring the flights will be fully booked again. Its
