MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

gf;

Trust me and Mike Walters that everything he has said is true...by the end of the year the products will be licensed to a big pharma..this is going to explode upwards.!

goldfinger - 30 Mar 2005 08:34 - 930 of 2444

That at the end of the tax year aswell Rob. Id ban these bank holidays, the momentum is always lost when you return.

not a good day for small caps, think we may see another test of 250, my feeling is that 250 is now a strong buy signal and lower resistance will be solid. Still hoping for a good pos finish today

goldfinger - 30 Mar 2005 09:03 - 933 of 2444

Yup bring on the Yanks and lets hope their futures are up.

cheers GF.

Just back from holiday - and have spent the last 2 hours going through this thread - absolutely unbeleivable - and I have missed out on the action - I was not confident enough to buy in before I went - thought I would leave it until I got back - bad decision.

I have no holding at the moment - but the news seems very positive for the future still so am going to put my toe in the water as I do not have the nice profits that some of you have from buying earlier.

Can I say congrats to GF again for spotting yet another great share last November - and to all those who have contributed so constructively since. Well done all - keep it up.

I believe that mm's will play with this whilst they have the opportunity.
They may try some tree shakes before next announcement and I will get back in when I feel it is right as MMG should still be a dosh maker from here.
I had to take some profit yesterday though having bought tranches between 68-81p I have be banking profit on the way up and can still buy back in at a lower sp than I sold yesterday.
Mitzy, I'm interested to know how you know so much though, surely if you don't have some inside info and Ruthenium is KNOWN to be good and one of big pharmas already lined up this would be out and MMG sp would be in orbit?

mitzy - 30 Mar 2005 13:49 - 940 of 2444

Andy:
I have it on good authority that the Ruthenium results are spectacular and that they will commence phase 2 trials very shortly; and I know that there will be another announcement confirming a tie-up with a big pharma..any shorters out there will be buying back the shares pronto..

andysmith - 30 Mar 2005 14:06 - 941 of 2444

Thanks Mitzy, UK Pharma?

mickeyskint - 30 Mar 2005 14:17 - 942 of 2444

Do MMG make an ointment for a sore bum as I feel a bit shafted today. With 2 exceptions a sea of red for me.

LOL

Michael Walters site this morning had a copy of a reply from David Best, the boss of MMG. Definitely worth a read.
