Bioprogress (BPRG)

scorpion - 13 Aug 2003 13:54

Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Anna, that's for you to decide! However, I personally doubt it will fall below 120p now, but that's easy for me to say as I'm heavily into these from 50, 65, 71 and 99.5p!!!

It depends on your timeframe. If you're looking for a quick profit, inevitably there is always a fallback sometime to provide a buying opp, but whether it will be from here or higher up I can't say.

If you're looking long term then yes, I would buy more now.

Hi Anna, no I think this ones going to be a real star on what I have been told. People thought everything was already in the price last time and look what happened. Anyway it looks like we are not just looking at one contract but others aswell.

cheers Gf.

There's high expectation of another deal being announced next week and a further one end Feb/early March. I also have a suspicion that we may get completely unexpected good news, possibly an early startup of Ostomy production by Convatec (currently expected 04H2), possibly a settlement with SEO, possibly an entirely new application, possibly another global licensing deal, who knows? What is clear, though, is that the price has started to tick up on good volumes during the last 2 days in exactly the same way as it did for 3-4 days prior to the FMC announcement.

For what it's worth, my view is that the next deal - directly with a pharma, hopefully - is the real "company maker". This is the deal that will:

(a) Cement confidence amongst the investment community that Bio delivers on its promises.

(b) Confirm that it genuinely does have a world-changing technology (though I think most of us there already.)

(c) Will establish a market cap that moves it onto institutional radar screens.

(d) Most importantly, will highlight a gelatine alternative to a BSE-aware population, the US, that will have the other pharmas tearing down the door - they really won't like the competitive and marketing advantages that this will give the early-adopters.

I think we might enjoy next week and possibly again 2 weeks thereafter and, from what Graham Hind says, again and again and again....

Have a great weekend and be kind to each other tomorrow!

"There were whispers around biotechnology group Bioprogress, on rumours of another big distribution deal following its recent agreement with FMC Biopolymer.

The shares closed up 5.8per cent at 127 1/2p".

cheers GF.

Janus,

Well we've certainly started well today!

I toped up using two different tradig accounts, and the price moved several pence in between me making the first and second trades!

At least the larger of my two trades made it before the big leap!

The Count - 16 Feb 2004 10:08 - 104 of 2372

THE COUNT--->JANUS

Believe me, that is pretty normal.

I would be more surprised if a company on AIM with a market cap of well over 100m and in the news so much, DIDN'T host a presentation for analysts.

There is nothing unusual at all. Still, don't let that detract you from the fantastic growth story we have in the making here.

Yes, today, certainly is quite a gay day indeed!

THE COUNT!

goldfinger - 17 Feb 2004 01:39 - 105 of 2372

And more to come Tuesday.

cheers Gf.

Daily Mail Market Report

There's no stopping BioProgress. The AIM listed provider of delivery mechanisms for the pharmaceutical oral dose markets jumped 14p more to 141.5p. It is said to be sitting on another mouthwatering licensing deal for its NROBE dosage technology which should be announced this week

Independant

BioProgress added 14p to 141.5p as traders piled into the medical equipment developer ahead of full year figures on 8 March. Those buying into the stock were encouraged by talk that there may be some positive news flow from the group before the results. Word has it the group is close to securing a licensing deal for its disposal colostomy pouch with a major US pharmaceutical company.

Daily Express
Bioprogress improved 14p to 142.5 yesterday as confirmation of the company's annual figures on March 8 triggered more speculative buying. A tie-up with a drugs giant is rumoured after a deal with FMC for its technology to make a soluble cover for pills.

The paper snippets (Mail, Independent, Express) gave the MMs an excuse to lift off first thing and suck in some punters and then drop the price back and panic a few out at lower prices. Classic play.

As for the papers, the reporting sucks. The Mail talks of NRobe. Too late, already taken by FMC. Another talks of Bristol Myers Squibb and the ostomy deal. Too late, signed months ago.

The RNS last November says the deal will be with a top-ten US over-the-counter pharma company. Can't the hacks do any basic research?
