Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

It's about controlling immigration, not banning it.
I see by population that London is France's sixth biggest city.

If immigrants who later attain British citizenship were banned from voting for 25 years a lot of politicians would not be so welcoming of them.
Most European countries in the hands of the liberals have allowed massive immigration, this is because the political elite see these as new future voters and ways to win more elections in future. The EU itself loves this and supports it, the more Liberal governments in power the more control and power the EU has.
This is of course all unraveling now as people are seeing through the lies. Just look at the USA, GDP growth rising, unemployment crashing down and all because Trump is putting America first.
His approval ratings are rising and rising, simply because end of the day the people are no longer mindlessly controlled by the media, they are seeing real benefits in their daily lives. The media is being caught with its pants down and its influence is waning fast.
Sadly in the UK the media still has a lot of power over the people, however as seen with Brexit, the brainwashing is starting to wear thin and people have actually realised they have a brain and can think for themselves, not do what the BBC and others tell them to do.
If we worried about the ethics and behavior of our leaders Winston Churchill would never have been PM.......and what a mistake that would have been.
We don't need talkers or do gooders..........we need people who actually get things done, do the dirty work, upset our neighbors but put the UK first. This can only happen with the UK outside of the EU.
And this is what frightens the EU...........if the UK leaves and becomes a great success then a lot of other countries will want to leave as well.......and then the EU crashes down.
Project Fear is being brought back on line............they are trying again to brainwash people that No Deal is not an option.

Got nothing against anti litter day Fred but my experience is that where bins are provided they are used anyway.
Maybe the EU you should buy some more bins.

Maybe of interest to those who haven't already watched this production.
Didn't like a lot of Blair's actions, but think this "lecture" was sensible.

imo, boris was worse than inappropriate in his choice of words
that the wearing of the burka is (i am sure) one of social convention rather than an instruction in the koran, is irrelevant
to deride women who choose to go thus attired is downright offensive and bullying, just as it would be to mock hasidic jews in their long black coats, black felt hats and ringlets

Both look ridiculous to me and I'm sure I look ridiculous to others. That you can dislike something but accept it doesn't compute with an increasing number of people; they believe tolerance is them accepting the things they like.
Cheers,
KidA

If that is the measure of ridiculous, then most of us are guilty. He looks dishevelled but not ridiculous. I'd rather a man like that than a preening peacock.
As for that crowd protesting that what he said was racism, they need to get a life. My personal experience with muslims has been almost totally positive but I believe the burkah should be banned. It has no place on the streets of the UK.

Hardly social convention, a totally antisocial garment. What hasidic jews have to do with it I don't know but their style of dress is convention rather a bible instruction. To my mind, the whole lot need to lighten up, throw off the shackles and smell the roses.
