Ultrasis Appoints Advisory Board

Ultrasis plc, the provider of cognitive behavioural therapy ('CBT') delivered by
computer, best known for its flagship product, 'Beating the Blues', a therapy
for people suffering anxiety and mild to moderate depression, announces the
establishment of an Advisory Board comprised of prominent figures in the health
care sector. The Board will ensure the company remains at the forefront of
developing technology solutions based on proven CBT treatment principles, help
Ultrasis in its task of meeting society's increasing mental health needs and
advise on ethical matters associated with the provision of mental health
therapy, regulatory compliance and the changing environment of public and
private sector provision.

Chaired by Ultrasis Chairman, former Minister of State for Health Gerald Malone,
the Ultrasis Advisory Board members are:

Sir Christopher Kelly KCB, a former Permanent Secretary of the Department of
Health, Chairman of the NSPCC and the Financial Ombudsman Service and Chairman
of the Committee on Standards in Public Life;.

Lord Victor Adebowale CBE, a social enterprise ambassador, coordinator of the
Ministerial Advisory Group on mental health for black and minority ethnic
groups, Chief Executive of Turning Point, the UK's leading social care
organisation and, among other appointments, President of the Community
Practitioners and Health Visitors Association.

Professor Sir David Goldberg, Professor Emeritus - formerly Professor - of
Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, a long-time advisor to the Department
of Health Professor Goldberg previously chaired the NICE guidelines for
depression, published in 2004 and currently chairs the NICE guidelines for
depression in physical illness.

Welcoming the members of the Advisory Board, Gerald Malone said:

'As the leading provider of cognitive behavioural therapy by computer with a
rapidly growing role in NHS mental health service provision it is important that
Ultrasis has secured the counsel of senior advisers to keep it in the vanguard
of mental health therapy development, compliant with a changing regulatory
regime and able to offer services which meet the increasingly varied needs of
the public and private sectors. The appointment of this Board marks Ultrasis'
transition from technology pioneer to established provider of essential mental
health services to the public.'

Still a large chunk of PCTs to come on board which looks likely based on Government support i.e still over 50% to meet the legal requirement for mental health provision. Looks very good.

micky468 - 20 Feb 2008 09:41 - 945 of 1525

we hope and think we may get some more news by end of week, if not then.. by early net week..but their is a push on at moment. Since the deadline is stated at 31st March 2008, there must be more deals to come .maybe West Midlands??

oilyrag - 20 Feb 2008 10:04 - 946 of 1525

I wonder if there's a danger that punters are being locked in, a lot of trades with little price movement lately.

elbow - 20 Feb 2008 10:08 - 947 of 1525

I would say your right about the West Midlands micky468.
The product has been discussed. Also at National conferences and suggest strategic level. I will say no more !

micky468 - 20 Feb 2008 10:35 - 948 of 1525

i've taking this from another BB but i could not have put it better............

USA is untapped at the minute, ULT are just utilising good advertising opportunities, the emphasis has always been on NHS take up (the bread and butter side of the business)now a few years have passed and it has been found that btb is good for a multitude of people with diabetes,MS,and comorbidity problems. We have only had (under) estimated figures for depression and anxiety as the 1st problem now we are seing it used for people who have depression / anxiety as a side effect of other problems.
I truly believe we are all under estimating the impact BTB is going to have and as for the rest of the world Great Britain has always been a benchmark.

Ultrasis PLC
20 February 2008

Press release 20th February 2008

Ultrasis plc

East of England Primary Care Trusts Commission Beating the Blues

Ultrasis plc, the provider of interactive healthcare and associated services, is
pleased to announce that the 7 Primary Care Trusts ('PCTs') in the East of
England Strategic Health Authority (SHA) have committed to provide Beating the
Blues ('BtB') to all patients suffering from mild to moderate depression. The 7
PCT's will have a contract value in excess of 420,000 over a two year period. A
further 3 PCT's have indicated their willingness to purchase but are awaiting
confirmation of their 2008/09 funding allocation.

Ultrasis recently announced the wide scale adoption of Beating the Blues by
PCT's in the North East Strategic Health Authority, following the lead of East
Midlands in August 2007. The deadline for all PCT's to be compliant with
Government Policy on making this evidence based treatment for depression
available is the 31st March 2008.

Nigel Brabbins, Chief Executive at Ultrasis, said: 'This is fantastic news for
Ultrasis and even better news for the people who live in the catchment areas of
these Primary Care Trusts. The evidence is clear that treating depression with
Beating the Blues is far more cost effective than face to face treatment and has
the added benefit of there being no waiting time to receive it.

'Using the internet is becoming an increasingly popular way for people to manage
their busy lives and now they can manage their mental health and wellbeing in
the same way by using this proven computer based treatment program.'

oilyrag" I wonder if there's a danger that punters are being locked in, a lot of trades with little price movement lately"
there is always a danger of pis being locked in, especially as the s/price has risen over 50% in 3 weeks, but this will depend on how often the news flow is released.
