Mediwatch-A World Leader in the Urology Diagnostic Sector (MDW)

banjomick - 10 May 2007 23:36

*****This thread is setup mainly to gain information
relating to Mediwatch in a quick and easy way and IS IN NO WAY A
RECOMMENDATION TO BUY!********

Mediwatch-A Synopsis:
Mediwatch was established in 1996 and has developed a range of specialist
medical equipment for the diagnosis of urological disorders. The group joined the
AIM in 2000 through a reverse into Prostcare plc, which at the time was valued at
8m.While the vast majority of sales were generated in the UK,there was a
substantial indirect export business involving a number of agents, supplying into
Europe,North America,Australasia and Asia,notably Japan.
Group revenues are set to increase rapidly following the acquisition of the former
Medtronic Urodynamis Division, which has introduced a fundamental presence in
North America. The deal was in 2006 with the sales division building from 2007.
With the inclusion of the Medtronic systems now owned by Mediwatch they now
can offer a 'One Stop Shop' for the diagnosis of various urology disorders with the
benefit of Mediwatch systems having the ability to electronically send data from the
various tests to a central data base!Oh and plus the added bonus of PSAwatch and
now PCA3plus!

More than 30 million PSA tests are performed annually in the USA alone!

Just for the record and to even things up,this is Treblewide's view (near end
of 2008):

"in short 3p by chrimbo and a real chance if they do not get rid of management they
will go into receivership.....when they bough the MDT business I said at the time it
must have been a bag of shite as they only paid buttons for it.......looks like that was
fairly correct......i feel sorry for shareholders"

Treblewide has been filtered from my eyes for his abuse, lies and general behavior but
it's a free country (I think) so do as you see fit.

It started with:

Treblewide - 05 Jun 2007 15:49 - 33 of 1747
still short

Treblewide - 18 Jun 2007 00:24 - 69 of 1747
interesting stuff from that article...very few men die from prosate cancer and it is not an agressive disease....treatment can be worse than the disease.......kind of suggests their whole business model is based on sand to me.......but hey who wants a balanced view.

Treblewide - 18 Jun 2007 00:31 - 76 of 1754
exercise and sex may cause a raised PSA...so you guys may have stumbled on a test for fit shaggers :-)

I am gonna name Me-Di-Watch

Gonna-go-bust-soon-iwatch

Treblewide - 18 Jun 2007 10:59 - 85 of 1754
minder...i do not make light of prosate cancer....show me one post where I do...i make fun out of this company yes but not the disease so wind yer neck in pal.

show me any trace of a profit and i will maybe change my mind

Treblewide - 18 Jun 2007 15:54 - 97 of 1754
minder made a small loss yes which I have more than made up for shorting it........and i guess your average holding is 3p.....aye right.

Aalso I closed out my short at 8p for a loss of the spread if memory serves me correctly.

currently short from 13.25....i thank you and goodnight

Treblewide - 23 Jul 2007 12:36 - 154 of 1747
more of the same......thank god i still do not own shares in this lot...will they ever
make a penny profit....looks doubtful......cannot even manage a small supply chain.

ect ect ect

with the last few posts:

Treblewide - 30 Mar 2009 09:16 - 1704 of 1754
you are a lunatic mick.....words fail me.

and ps i only post under treblewide on any financial web site....i know you cannot say the same......you have been calling this as a buy and nothing but a buy for about 7 years...it says it all really about your stock picking ability

i notice the downtrend ins now establishing itself....re-visit of the lows again by the looks of things

Treblewide - 30 Mar 2009 22:41 - 1712 of 1754
mick no i dont know what each product does...i dont think that is important...the numbers tell everything and even though you must spend hours on web sites searching for stuff that is not even related to MDW you fail to grasp the basics...they consistently lost money and now seem to be making some...my call to 3p was correct and i think if they had not got their shit together they could have gone under

i was not interested in them as a long play while they were loosing money depsite whatever rubbish you posted regarding piss sticks or whatever you bang on about.

and yes it was poor trading..having an avergae of 12 and averaging down to 6-7p while they were at 3p....is terrible trading...that cannot even be debated...the very fact you know so much about the products means you have fallen in love with this company......which is very dangerous when investing....

the numbers are the important things...i was right on 3p, the company is posting slightly better figures but we are in a bear market which has not bottomed yet so the price will fall further

you are a 1 trick pony that posts irrelevant links...dont bother to respond i can be bothered getting into a debate with you.....away and cut and paste some more flags

toodlepip

I have been chased from here and now ADVFN,has the boy got a problem?

treblewide - 3 Aug'09 - 14:46 - 22345 of 22412

post 22342 is classic.....so mick advfn is not a good source when the consensus is sell?

begs the question why you spend so much time polluting it with your bull tripe?

question....so MDW share price has gone up, it has gone down etc etc...during all of that time has mick ever been able to find any subjectivity in his posting ie has he ever critisised anything?

i really think he may be getting paid by MDW...the whole thing is very bizzare.

mick i notice you referred to your threads as "promotion of Mediwatch"

can you confirm if you are getting financially rewarded by the company for this?

treblewide - 3 Aug'09 - 23:55 - 22371 of 22412

664k overdrawn....takes a long time to pay back at 39k profit every 6 months.

drawn down overdraft has increased by 170k and they paid 33k to service that overdraft and made 39k profit...as i keep saying my local fish and chip shop make more money than this lot.

margins have been squeezed...psa watch now off the agenda in terms of updates....not 1 single reason to buy and yet you lot think this share price will go up??.....am mystified why it would increase? genuinely why is this comapny under valued?? i cannot see it and dont bang on about fairfax saying they are going to make x amount...they have never been near to getting it right

if i were a holder i would be selling now at 6p if i could and buying back in the 2-3p range which the chart is saying is now a certainty....i expecta full year loss

i told you all to sell at 14p and at 11p (it is all there in black and white) and that it was going to 3 pence..i got abuse mick called me an idiot and suggested it was going to 50p......still a sell and my short (which was posted in real time over the road) is nicely in profit.

toodle pip...will log back in when it gets to 3p....

still time to get out at 6p.....dont understand why you would not sell at 6p when they are obviously going to half in value...if you are a long term mdw bull you can buy twice as many shares at 3p and maybe possibly one day see a profit on your holding?

treblewide - 4 Aug'09 - 12:44 - 22381 of 22412

last chance to sell at 6p for your shares folks

treblewide - 4 Aug'09 - 14:48 - 22387 of 22412

so question...is psawatch is so great...why has there been no huge surge in revenue figures from UK and Europe on the back of it being sold?

the whole reason a lot of you hold this is psawatch...it has not made them any money in Europe which could be argued when taken as a whole is not much smaller than the USA.....this company is not going to change overnight with US approval...at bets it would be a selling opportunity for long term holders

i really think a lot of you have to ignore some of the nonsense ramping going on here...the company is draining cash and there margins are reducing (despite this wonder PSA machine they have for sale)

i really think the future looks bleak for mediwatch...if someone can put in concise terminology why MDW is a buy i am all ears....dont point me at fairfax report...they are a bunch of clowns as well...that interim report is shocking and i mean really poor.

costs out of control...margins squeezed, cash running out...no real revenue growth, does this sound like a growth company to you?

sell at 6p

treblewide - 4 Aug'09 - 15:50 - 22391 of 22412

god i have heard it all now...mick can you counter my points about declining margins and cash issues without nonsense posts about peopel having insider information...what a crock and what a clown.

so just so i have this straight in my head...when you put in effort to ramp these shares it is all great and you expect cuddles? (and if anyone disagrees you throw your toys out the pram liek an old woman)

when i put up a few posts to explain why i am short it is an organised attempt to get the share price down because i have insider inforamtion from the US?

were you the Iraqi information minister in a previous role? lol

treblewide - 5 Aug'09 - 19:24 - 22409 of 22412

lol.....shares getting sold today at 5.75.....next stop 3p...

last chance to sell at 6p for your shares folks

treblewide - 5 Aug'09 - 19:29 - 22410 of 22412

i wonder what thier overdraft is limited to....1M?

if so they have 12 months of life left at current perfomance...how many of you hlders have considered the chances of them going bust?....i would not rule it out...would love to know how much further the banks will let them go into debt before they pull the plug

treblewide - 5 Aug'09 - 19:37 - 22411 of 22412

seriously if i were a holder i would look at the interims and ask how much longer can they go on burning cash.......and with all the averaging down the bulls have done over the years i bet some are more exposed than they should be....good luck...think you might need it

ANYWAY

banjomick - 16 Sep 2008 15:22 - 935 of 1785

Well,it will only take one or two positive announcements to bring in the whoooosh factor to return the SP back to the teens, plenty of upside from this level, imo and dyor.

Treblewide - 16 Sep 2008 15:23 - 936 of 1785

yes and only a few negative ones to ake it back to down to the 1 or 2 pence mark.....

banjomick - 16 Sep 2008 15:26 - 937 of 1785

There you go again always looking on the negative side,I don't know!

Treblewide - 16 Sep 2008 15:54 - 938 of 1785

no i am being realisitic i know it is not something you are familiar with.....denial is a funny thing

banjomick - 16 Sep 2008 15:59 - 939 of 1785

I,ve never been to Egypt so I can't comment on whether it's funny or not!

Did WINS moving up on bid to make it 3-1 make you post :-)

Treblewide - 16 Sep 2008 16:22 - 940 of 1785

lol........yeah i felt i had to...such earth shattering news...compelled me to post

banjomick - 16 Sep 2008 16:29 - 941 of 1785

See,you almost sounded happy and positive there!

banjomick - 16 Sep 2008 23:27 - 942 of 1785

No SP movement today but under the current climate this has to be classed as a very good day,in me humbly opinion of course!

With Philip Stimpson (Big Chief MDW) purchasing 250k today along with another purchase of 185k (28 August 2008) raising his stake from 13.50% (As of 27th May 2008) to 14.74% as of today then with a few positive announcements the growth story will continue.

banjomick - 16 Sep 2008 23:39 - 943 of 1785

Over the next few months I can invisage news, trading statements regarding the following areas- South America,Asia,North Africa and the Gulf States.

I'm only going by the 'TRAINING COURSE PROGRAMME 2008' as they wouldn't put the effort into training if there wasn't a market for the products within this sector!

"Mediwatch is committed to provide the best training possible for distributors and end users.During 2008 Mediwatch is providing a comprehensive programme of sales training and service support courses around the world. All courses are conducted by our sales and service staff with a detailed knowledge of the systems."

Treblewide - 18 Sep 2008 15:25 - 944 of 1785

come on Mick...the bid has moved up.......lets have a party ;-)

banjomick - 18 Sep 2008 16:02 - 945 of 1785

20p and beyond is party time,Treble :-)

Treblewide - 18 Sep 2008 16:17 - 946 of 1785

ok i will come back when robots are cleaning my house and i can teleport to mars...i think that is roughly about the time you will see 20p

Wellington Place, St. Johns Wood, London NW8 9LE.

PROSTATE CANCER
Diagnosis

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Following consultation with your doctor, he or she may do some of the following test or refer you to a hospital specialist (urologist).

A digital rectal examination (DRE) enables your doctor to feel your prostate through the wall of your rectum. By inserting a lubricated, gloved finger into your rectum your doctor will detect hardening or irregularity of your prostate, indicating cancer.

A PSA blood test will test the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in a sample of your blood. PSA is produced both by normal and cancerous prostate cells and high levels of PSA may indicate cancer but could be caused by other prostate diseases.

Next, your doctor may recommend prostate biopsy, a surgical procedure to take a small piece of tissue using a needle. This will be examined in a laboratory to confirm if it is a tumour and how fast it is growing.

A PCA3PlusTM test is a urine-based molecular test for patients who have elevated serum PSA and a negative biopsy result. Used to determine which men should have a follow-up biopsy, it is an extremely accurate predictor for prostate cancer.

http://www.thewellingtonurologyservices.com/prostate-diagnosis.asp

The above relates to PCA3 Plus test and Mediwatch, from the announcement 25th June 2008:

Mediwatch to distribute ground-breaking molecular test for prostate cancer

"Mediwatch has signed an agreement with Bostwick Laboratories Inc. a general reference laboratory headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, USA) granting it sole rights to sell the nucleic acid amplification based PCA3PlusTM test worldwide, with the exception of Canada and the USA."

banjomick - 20 Sep 2008 11:03 - 948 of 1785

Treble, not sure if this is your house :-)

The Company has developed an autonomous robot, based on unique patented technology, which provides a safe and cost-effective alternative to life threatening manual cleaning process employed today.

I'll look later to see if I can find a way to teleport you to mars! :-)

banjomick - 20 Sep 2008 23:05 - 949 of 1785

I'm not sure if the Wellington Hospital carry out the 'PCA3 Plus' test in-house or is sent to a lab but I will find out.
The Wellington Hospital is the first UK hospital that I have seen that specifically makes reference to the 'PCA3 Plus' test which is the version of the PCA3 test which Mediwatch have the sole rights to sell worldwide, with the exception of Canada and the USA.

A little bit of history:

Early 1990's-Marion Bussemakers and William B. Isaacs discovered a new gene and named it PCA3.

Further development of PCA3 was performed in the laboratories of Jack A. Schalken,Bussemakers' supervising professor at University Hospital,Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

Interest in urinary prostate cells, which had been generally abandoned years before, was then resurrected and urinary PCA3 research studies were soon instituted by Yves Fradet in Laval University in Canada. A prototype urine assay known as uPM3 was developed at Diagnocure. During this time the nomenclature for DD3 was formally changed to PCA3.

Gene testing was performed at DiagnoCure,a Canadian biotech company founded by Dr. Yves Fradet. Fradet had obtained the PCA3 patent from the group at Nijmegen. In November 2003, Gen-Probe, Inc (San Diego, CA) acquired from DiagnoCure exclusive worldwide diagnostic rights to this new prostate cancer gene.

In collaboration with Urological Sciences Research Foundation (USRF) of Culver City,CA,clinical testing of the Gen-Probe assay began in early 2004 and the first presentation of data from that work was made at the Gordon Research Conference on Biomarkers in January,2005.

April 2006-Introducing PCA3Plus, the next generation of uPM3

PCA3PlusTM detects PCA3, a specific gene that is highly expressed in prostate cancer. No other human tissues express PCA3.

We are pleased to be the first to provide the innovative PCA3PlusTM test for men at risk for prostate cancer. This test is the second generation of the hugely successful uPM3TM test, the first genetic test for prostate cancer risk available exclusively by Bostwick Laboratories, Inc. since 2004. PCA3PlusTM uses technology that provides even greater reproducibility than uPM3TM, said David G. Bostwick, MD, MBA, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer.

PCA3PlusTM has not been cleared or approved by the FDA, and is based upon reagents manufactured by Gen-Probe (San Diego, California). PCA3PlusTM is a trademark of Bostwick Laboratories, Inc. uPM3TM is a trademark of DiagnoCure (Quebec City, Quebec, Canada).

Ground-breaking molecular test for prostate cancer

banjomick - 22 Sep 2008 22:12 - 950 of 1785

Here's another UK Hospital offering the PCA3Plus test which MDW have the sole rights to sell this specific form of the PCA3 test worldwide, with the exception of Canada and the USA:

PCA3Plus Test at Spire Parkway Hospital

"Spire Parkway Hospital is able to offer the new prostate cancer test PCA3Plus. It is believed to be more effective and specific than the more commonly available PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test.

The new test measures a genetic chemical messenger RNA which transfers DNA instructions from the PCA3 gene. Elevated scores are produced only when cancer is present."

http://www.spirehealthcare.com/parkway/News/PCA3Plus-Test-for-Prostate-Cancer/

"Spire Healthcare now has 36 hospitals across the UK,with a total of 1,983 beds, providing services for private patients, both those funded by health insurance and those who choose to pay themselves. We also treat NHS funded patients under the governments Free Choice scheme."

Edit-I'm sure I've posted about Spire Healthcare before relating to PCA3 but I'm sure it's just recently that it's been classed as PCA3Plus,will double check.

banjomick - 22 Sep 2008 22:29 - 951 of 1785

There you go my good olde lonesome thread does have some use :-)

It was a post relating the hospitals featured in the PSAwatch video:

banjomick - 04 Jul 2008 18:27 - 626 of 950

Forgot what I was going to do now...oh yes.

Relating to the PSAwatch video and the Urologists representing the three hospitals:

Nuffield Hospitals

"Nuffield Hospitals continues to grow and is extending into new areas. We currently have 32 hospitals (31 in England and one in Scotland) and our services now include employee health and wellness (Nuffield Proactive Health) and Europes largest and most modern fleet of mobile hospitals and operating theatres (Vanguard Healthcare)."

Nuffield http://www.nuffieldhospitals.org.uk/about_us/aboutus.asp

Spire Healthcare

Spire Healthcare now has 36 hospitals across the UK, with a total of 1,983 beds, providing services for private patients, both those funded by health insurance and those who choose to pay themselves. We also treat NHS funded patients under the governments Free Choice scheme.

http://www.spirehealthcare.com/About-Spire/

The Princess Margaret Hospital, part of the BMI group

BMI Healthcare, the UKs premier private health care provider with acute care private patient hospitals and outpatient centres in 56 locations around the country and over 2,600 beds. Handling over 250,000 inpatient and one million outpatient visits each year, nearly half of the procedures undertaken for private patients are of a major or complex nature.

http://www.bmihealthcare.co.uk/index.cfm

banjomick - 22 Sep 2008 22:49 - 952 of 1785

I'm getting a bit confused now (Ed-nothing new there then!),this article is from December 2007 before MDW had the sole rights to sell this specific form of the PCA3 test known as PCA3Plus:

Local private hospital offers radical new prostate cancer test

"A new prostate cancer test that could transform the way the disease is diagnosed and treated is now available at Spire Roding Hospital, Spire Healthcares private hospital in Redbridge near Ilford in Essex.

Top urological surgeon Shiv Bhanot believes the PCA3Plus test is more effective than the more commonly available PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test."

"Other Spire Healthcare private hospitals that offer the PCA3Plus test are: Spire Bushey Hospital in Watford, Hertfordshire; Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Kent and Spire Gatwick Park Hospital in Surrey."

http://www.privatehealth.co.uk/news/december-2007/prostate-cancer-test-382/

and

http://www.spirehealthcare.com/gatwickpark/News/Gatwick-Park-offers-radical-new-prostate-cancer-test/

I think a letter to MDW is in order to clarify whether the hospitals mentioned, over the last two days have any bearing on MDW sales of the test or do these hospitals have their own contracts with Bostwick Labs.........

banjomick - 22 Sep 2008 23:13 - 953 of 1785

This is from the Nuffield Hospital Group web news letter which must be dated some time after June 2008:

"In the future a urinary test for PCA3, an mRNA that is highly
over expressed in prostate cancer cells, may improve prostate
cancer diagnosis."

http://www.nuffieldhospitals.org.uk/admupldfiles/newsflash/Brentwood%20Issue%205%20WEB.pdf

banjomick - 22 Sep 2008 23:31 - 954 of 1785

If we drift back to the actual announcement of 25/06/2008 PCA3Plus:

"The agreement, which starts immediately, is for three years and entitles Mediwatch to exclusive, worldwide (excluding USA and Canada)
distribution rights for PCA3PlusTM, a specific DNA marker for prostate cancer."

I think I said this before, who approached who?

The PCA3 test whether the 'Plus' version (MDW/Bostwick Labs) or under another companies name is taking off, that is for sure!

The PCA3 test has no effect on PSAwatch or the standard PSA test as it's a major lab test that costs about 300 compared to,I forget, about 20 for a PSA test.
