Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

There won't be any chaos Fred just like the world didn't end the day after we voted out.

BBC full of doom and gloom this evening. Apparently a BLT will cost more if we don't get a deal because the bacon is from Denmark , lettuce from Spain and the tomato from Holland.
Omg how will we manage.

Also, credit card costs will maybe possibly could be might be likely rise very slightly when traveling to Europe............Mmmmmm just dont go to Europe then, very simple. And if you do, try using that thing called cash......
Apparently also the rest of the world does not have medicine, only the EU does and if we are not in the EU then we cannot have medicine, maybe, possibly, likely, could be, might be, perhaps............

Joking aside. All of us who take a punt on the markets. Have we got a strategy in place for Clean Break if it actually goes ahead?

Interesting article.
I "should" read again a few times and maybe I will.
A closing paragraph was :
"Personally, I would rather that ultimate decisions are made in democratically elected Parliament, rather than in the courts. That is my view of the world: I trust democracy; but I fear that the European Union does not."
I think emotionally I agree.
But look at the hell of mess Cameron's. Osborne's "democratic" referendum and "tory democracy" has got the UK into.
It is "Parliament" which "defines" the "laws", but the Judicial System which should be the implementors of those laws.
At the moment I would prefer to trust the courts with a system of "appeal" than the present cabal in government governing for itself.

If the laws and rules are good "ones", whether the courts are familial, local, national, EU or International at the end of the day, as long as they can be appealed against, modified and/or implemented.

Give and take of life.
I think some negotiators have expected and still expect to take to much from one another.

Max,
Some bedtime reading and thought for you:
A no-deal Brexit may be unthinkable but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen

Gawd what a miserable old git that Andrew Rawnsley is.
A lot of it is total bollox talking of which ... if there is a sperm shortage because of a no deal I don't mind chipping in a bit.

• Andrew Rawnsley is an Observer columnist ... says it all really!
However, to matters of importance .. this sperm business really confirms the fact that the Danes are a load of wankers.
