Also make sure auto hide is not enabled for the Taskbar. Right click the Taskbar, Properties, uncheck the auto hide button.

I need a decent (ie better than Talk Talk's standard offering) modem router with wi fi. I like the sound of some of the netgear stuff, particularly those with software that can limit access for different machines at different times of the day, and with safe filters built in so my kids don't see anything inappropriate.

Has anyone any recommendations of wireless modem routers that they think fit this bill? Not too worried about the cost, just want a bit of quality kit that doesn't keep dropping the broadband signal.

I am increasingly being asked to edit pdf files which is cumbersome to say the least with only adobe reader.
There are several products PDF Pro, PDF Editor etc. Any experiences/recommendations that have worked well for yourselves without breaking the bank?

Does what I want.

Thanks Publisher. I've downloaded the evaluation version but it does seem a little heavyweight for me. I have e.g. course notes in a pdf which need the text updated for changes in syllabus. Nothing fancy, just place cursor and delete/revise text. The cute product does a lot of things but surprisingly nothing that basic.
Trying out some others but thanks anyway.

Im using IE8 32bit and windows 7, but am unable to click on the buttons to the left of the java applet in the stockwatch module. If I hover over the graph/trades/news buttons the cursor doesnt turn into a hand and does nothing when clicked, however if I hover over the 'add note' button on the right hand side it does work. I have visited Adobe website and its telling me I am running the latest version of java. Please help!

iiwarm - 27 Jan 2011 20:38 - 9406 of 11003

I have the same setup and all the links work well in stockwatch even though the cursor doesn't change to a hand.
suggest you post on the "Managed bugs and enhancements report thread" during working hours and the staff will get back to you

kernow - 07 Mar 2011 12:59 - 9409 of 11003

Just changed ISP's to Plusnet - so much faster and good customer relations.
..but I've lost my free web space and made a big mistake signing up to Just host. I'd like to say they are rubbish - but they aren't even that good.
Any suggestions?

My HP nc4000 notebook has lost its wifi option. Can still connect via cable. The wifi tells me that there is a connection available when I scan but when I connect it keeps telling me that there is no access point available, when there is.
Can any of the experts help me get my wifi running again please.

Microsoft have now released Internet Explorer 9 for general use.

NB. It is not available for Windows XP users.

Check out the 'Features' and 'What's New?' and then, if you want, also 'Download it'.

All from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/internet-explorer/products/ie-9/welcome-upgrade

I have a Motorola Dext phone with the Android O/S. Does Android support Java as am having great difficulty getting the Stockwatch page to display on the MoneyAM mobile site? Have done a little research but can only find reference to the equivalent as a Linux addition. Also Java is not listed as a program in my phone settings.

Richgit69 - 20 Apr 2011 23:16 - 9413 of 11003

Just Bought a new PC Zoostorm Intel I5 650 8gb 1tb, 2xpci 1pci-e and (1pci-ex16 think that means version2) Windows 7

I had 3 monitor set on my last PC

All am getting is Generic VGA monitor, can't get resolution higher than 1280x1080 should be 1900x1440 Viewsonic x3 monitors.

2 come on but they have the same display appearing tried getting viewsonic drivers and updating windows it says either Video adapter needs to be Direct x9, can't even extend window in the two monitors

HELP

HARRYCAT - 10 May 2011 18:33 - 9414 of 11003

Looks like it comes with either of these onboard graphics cards:
nVidia GTS450 1 GB dedicated GPU1GB or nVidia GeForce GTX460 Graphics
If you are getting a generic monitor reading then the graphics card is not doing it's job.
Might be worth exploring the nVidia website to find assistance. ZooStorm not one I know much about.

Richgit69 - 10 May 2011 21:23 - 9415 of 11003

HarryCAT, thanks looks like I need to buy a dedicated graphics cards looking at MSI cyclone 1gb DRR5

jonuk76 - 11 May 2011 13:49 - 9416 of 11003

Probably, to run 3 monitors at that resolution you'd need a seperate card yes. It'll run two definitely. I believe the graphics processor is on the CPU, unless the machine already has a separate video adapter included. The graphics driver for the Core CPU's can be downloaded here - Intel I don't see why it wouldn't support dual screen at the resolution you want if the drivers have been set up correctly. If it's a fresh installation of Windows, and the drivers have not been installed it could default to a generic Super VGA driver which will be limited in functionality and resolution.

Richgit69 - 11 May 2011 23:03 - 9417 of 11003

Jonuk76, thanks thats the first thing I did update Intel drivers as you said it only gives me generic Super VGA, and it just say I got the best drivers available, even tried changing the Bios Graphic setup from PEG to PCI IDG etc still nothing seems it need a dedicated card so looking at the MSI cyclone now, contacted Foxxcon to make sure it will fit the motherboard as its a dualslot and 22cm in depth
