How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

forgot about the footie, have been on the darts on sky - awesome performance from Barneveld in the first match including a 9 darter

Boro look a tad short to me but two poor sides

Evening Guys

Just got in but doesn't look like I've missed a lot on the footy

Harlosh - 23 Mar 2006 21:01 - 9491 of 10502

Eveing Bak. Late night tonight?

bakko - 23 Mar 2006 21:03 - 9492 of 10502

Not really, just dinner at the in laws

Fundamentalist - 23 Mar 2006 21:08 - 9493 of 10502

Ever seen Phil Taylor start a game at more than 1.5? - you will tonite when he plays Barneveld

SA - Australia 2nd Test - late 2nd day. Aus 349 for 9. Just backed the draw at 2.54 - seems reasonable value

compoundup - 25 Mar 2006 12:01 - 9495 of 10502

Smith wasn't supposed to be out for a golden duck on the first ball of the innings. Would that be a diamond duck?

compoundup - 25 Mar 2006 12:19 - 9496 of 10502

Not looking so clever now. Gibbs a serious loss. Covered for now - so red on the draw and will wait 'til tomorrow before reappraising.

Afternoon Edward

Sorry to see that you're out of the money at the moment with that 1st ball wicket. Now 2 wickets gone as I write.

Not really following this match but watched some this am. Even though Aus scored well the bounce has been inconsistent all morning and could get worse over the next couple of days. Probably, why Aus odds were quite low before SA batted. Only chance of a draw could be the weather which you can check on this

I'm not the resident cricket expert so above just my own opinion

compoundup - 25 Mar 2006 12:46 - 9498 of 10502

Thanks Bak, though I can't get weather.com to function at the moment. It must be down.

I had been thinking adverse weather was a small probability and that with Aus having used up over 1 2/3 days in their modest first innings that time would be the major factor.

With hindsight, having to face Lee and Kaspowitz must have put fear into the S Africans and I didn't allow for that

bakko - 25 Mar 2006 12:53 - 9499 of 10502

When I last checked it was Sun-Sunny, Mon-Partly Cloudy and Tues-Showers am.

Also Warne was turning the ball a bit too.

bakko - 25 Mar 2006 13:06 - 9500 of 10502

Anyone on the scouse derby?

Gerrard sent off after 2 yellows with only 18mins gone

bakko - 25 Mar 2006 13:08 - 9501 of 10502

Liv odds drifted out from 1.7s to 2.9s on that sending off

bakko - 25 Mar 2006 13:33 - 9502 of 10502

Superb own goal from a Neville header to give Liv the lead

compoundup - 27 Mar 2006 16:57 - 9503 of 10502

bakko - That man Henman in the firing line again on 404 Sky Sports Extra now. Match 5060339

Harlosh - 27 Mar 2006 17:00 - 9504 of 10502

Just spoekn to him Edward - he's just leaving work for home.
