Bosley Hi,

I don't think we are deluded, and I have evidence to back up my beliefs that ASDA want Greenseal, so that they can advertise their products are better than any other UK retailers.

Go chat to Tony Ruane, like I did back in March of this year, and you will see why.

tony.ruane@asda.co.uk

Cheers,
PM

paul, asda want bigger profits. greenseal can help them achieve that by cutting the cost of packaging. if the suppliers adopt greenseal and save asda money, it's fantastic for seo and us. if the suppliers can make the same savings by other methods, asda wont care about seo. that's what i believe, and there is plenty of proof about that the major supermarkets dont give a shit about the companies they deal with. all i am saying is let's wait for confirmation of orders before we start counting the money.

Dormar - 16 Sep 2005 16:49 - 9492 of 27111

Bos, not sure I'm with you there. If it's all about price, the suppliers could just cut prices by switching to inferior ingredients etc., without touching greenseal.

No, for ASDA, this is as much about improving quality for the consumer, and gaining market share as a result, as it is about reducing prices. Of course ASDA will also want the savings that Greenseal can deliver reflected in the price they pay, but they won't be able to have it all, because there must be a saving for the supplier also.

I don't think anyone has suggested that somehow ASDA have this altruistic desire to help Stanelco's bottom line?

Off out for the weekend now, so won't be near a computer for a day or two!

paulmasterson1 - 16 Sep 2005 16:49 - 9493 of 27111

Bosley Hi,

ASDA want market share, they want to be number one, and Greenseal + Starpol 2000, is more likely to help, than cutting back on quantity/quality to get the goods at cheaper prices.

So you really think ASDA don't want to be able to claim the Greenseal benefits for themselves, as several reasons for shoppers to buy their products rather than those of the other retailers ????

As I said, speak to Tony Ruane, he will make you think otherwise.

Cheers,
PM

Bosley,

Don't agree with you here. I certainly believe that SEO won't be telling us of every conversion. I certainly believe that ASDA will want to promote the greenseal / Starpol to the suppliers but maybe not to the end customer. Personally I for one, wouldn't give a flying feck as to how the packaging looked, so long as the food inside was fresh and looked fresh! As for the starch based biodegradeable packaging or whatever Starpol will involve then this may attract some end customers who go shopping. What it will attract is the big retailers knowing that they don't have to worry too much about waste, esp if they're gonna be penalised by govt policies on waste etc.

IMHO

Some folk seem to have forgotten that Asda want RF technology used since it increases the shelf life of products, keeps it looking good for longer and it is safer as a seal. All that adds up to labour saving in stores plus less returns to the suppliers or pig bins. So they do have more than just a straightforward profit motive for insisting on their suppliers moving over to the RF technology. I doubt it will be long before the conversion rate accelerates considerably.

Bugz - 16 Sep 2005 17:54 - 9497 of 27111

Its been a good day refreshing our minds of why Greenseal kicks ass!

1. Cheaper
2. Looks good on the shelf
3. Keeps content fresher for longer
4. Going to and has made shareholders a good return
5. Allows me to hurl abuse at Shamona everytime he keeps coming to this board posting crap

SS/Bugz Hi,

Good points, thanks :)

Barry Harris - 16 Sep 2005 18:02 - 9499 of 27111

Anyone:- Whats the point of Asda having a one year exclusivity with Stanelco if Asda`s suppliers decide to reduce their prices by other means.

Bugz - 16 Sep 2005 18:10 - 9500 of 27111

Exactly. I'd have thought if ASDA knew their suppliers could reduce their prices by other means, they wouldn't have made the effort in the Exclusivity Contract.

Comes back to the same point in my mind - Greenseal is set to go and all of us including myself are getting very bored and tired waiting....!! But its gotta be done and its so gonna be worth it...

KingKonggb - 16 Sep 2005 20:20 - 9501 of 27111

Hope Captain Guide doesn't mind but he has posted on the other side:

"Goodevening all - Captain guide bringing you all a small update. Its been sometime from the last time we took off on SEO flight. For those who have been patience so far would be pleased to know that SEO flight will bring fruits of joy and happiness alongwith the normal RF sealed inflight meals. Entertainment will be mind blowing. ups and downs on our flight path is normal now for SEO passengers.

Air Traffic control has advised SEO flight to be on standby for a departure next week. Afraid cannot be more precise this time, however the prices for SEO flight is cheap at present. Its 45mins to close of booking counter before the week ahead and high prices"

Must confess that whenever CG posts - there has always been an RNS of some kind - and his predictions have been fairly accurate - so lets just wait and see what happens now!!

KK

Captain Guide is usually a good indicator.

Does this mean that an RNS re Northern Foods acceptance of Greenseal & Starpol2000 delivered via Mondini dedicated machines is due on Monday(the dream scenario)?

Happy Weekend all !

bhunt1910 - 16 Sep 2005 20:52 - 9504 of 27111

Well that is going to get the chatter going over the weekend !!

My bet will be an announcement on Tuesday or Friday. Now back to the wine

shamona - 16 Sep 2005 21:13 - 9506 of 27111

Captain Guide lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You chaps are really desperate for something to prop up this pile of cack, sold any furnaces lately?

That is what the company do after all, the rest is pie in the sky rubbish.

Masterson

You've had ample opportunity to meet and speak to other investors but always make excuses, is it because you're a hyperactive spotty teenager who lives his life as a lie?

One notes you only post at certain times of day, does the factory not offer internet access outside breaks?

You keep lying and ramping, i'll keep telling the facts; even your old buddies on advfn were taking the proverbial out of you tonight lol!!

ptholden - 16 Sep 2005 21:35 - 9507 of 27111

Shamoaner

You are now becoming a real pain in the arse. Having been out all day I return to find a large percentage of posts are by your embittered self, cluttering up the thread, with nothing useful to say. Please take your very childish insults elsewhere, because no-one is interested in what you have to say. If you have a problem with PM, why not do it by email?

Incidentally you remind me of a banned poster called Sequestor, you wouldn't happen to be him in disguise would you?

paulmasterson1 - 16 Sep 2005 22:07 - 9508 of 27111

PTH Hi,

The sham won't send me e-mail, because if I want to, I can then find out what area they live in, and then who their isp is, and then their name and address ....

Bashers like the sham are not really interested in me, they just want to post as much bollocks as possible, to wear the longs down and make them sell out.

Squelch is the answer, if we ALL did it, the sham would eventually leave, because there would be no point staying here being ignored.

Cheers,
PM
