How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Harlosh, Man U was a good play 1.50's at half time.

Harlosh - 05 Feb 2005 16:24 - 951 of 10502

You read my mind Scrip, I backed them at 1.51. Now greened up.

cunningham - 05 Feb 2005 16:27 - 952 of 10502

Starting to get the hang of this, also backed Man U at 1.51 and greened up after Keenes goal. Greened up on Liverpool as well.

Time not to get over confident though.

Harlosh - 05 Feb 2005 16:36 - 956 of 10502

It's on at the same time as Arsenal Funday. Not lost confidence in them by any chance? Lol.

Scripophilist - 05 Feb 2005 16:43 - 957 of 10502

Just backed Spurs about 2 secs before they scored. Very lucky! Picked up at 1.24, Now 1.01 to lay.

John

I have the luxury of being on my own for the weekend - i am already prepared - i have 2 tvs set up in the lounge - rugby on terrestrial, football on sky. I dont trade on Arsenal games hence the rugby will be on the betfair screen.

And yes, as far as the league is concerned, were playing for 2nd/3rd now - and wouldnt want to be backing them today with Campbell and Toure missing.

Harlosh - 05 Feb 2005 16:49 - 959 of 10502

Scrip,

They say you make your own luck.

Steve,

Enjoy!!

Fundy, Sounds like you are really set up for this evening, LOL!

"And yes, as far as the league is concerned, were playing for 2nd/3rd now - and wouldnt want to be backing them today with Campbell and Toure missing."

I'll be watching the match but no decision on how to play it. Will see how Arsenal react to the result mid week.

Harlosh - 05 Feb 2005 17:00 - 961 of 10502
