MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

049balt - no harm meant, I have seen many sections of MW quoted here from respected posters such as Goldfinger. I was just trying to give something back to the group after months of lurking. As for EK, if he is shorting MMG that adds to NLR and AEN my three largest holdings, and I have no intention of selling any of them.

Peter123 - 30 Mar 2005 18:13 - 952 of 2444

Who do EK think he is. Just a P***. I hold AEN and MMG.

049balt - 30 Mar 2005 18:26 - 953 of 2444

gavin, no problem. I subscribe to MW and the person who posted the email from David best requested that it not be posted on any other BB. It is important to respect the wishes of those that have good contacts, do you not agree!.

gavinwood - 30 Mar 2005 18:29 - 954 of 2444

049balt agreed - sorry, sorry, sorry!! Good though wasn't it!

049balt - 30 Mar 2005 18:34 - 955 of 2444

gavin, o yes it was very good indeed. MW will be doing an update on two of my favourites tonight MMG and HCEG, the latter is well worth researching.

gavinwood - 30 Mar 2005 18:36 - 956 of 2444

I'll take a look at HCEG, but first I'm off to the pub for an evening of beer and football - all work and no play ;-)

Andy;
Glaxo is a sound company..

rob308 - 30 Mar 2005 19:11 - 958 of 2444

I am very pleased with today's close.
The tree is well and truly shaken. The upside of this company is undeniable. 260 consolidation ..... great. Most importantly it is now in the sights of the big bio's and pharma's.
Dont forget we have seen no negative sentiments relating to/encouraging tuesday's fall. It was pure profit taking and jitters on the part of the fickle.
Take a look at the products, take a look at your holding and smile.........
rob
I am still buying and will still be buying

hampi_man - 31 Mar 2005 08:15 - 963 of 2444

BJK, the SP seems to have stabilised around the 255 - 260 mark so any where in and around here is a good place to get back in. I got back in myself yesterday and happy to see even these 'little' improvements in the SP everyday from now onwards
cheers

rob308 - 31 Mar 2005 08:18 - 964 of 2444

seems to be hitting lower resistance, quite a few sells but no real drop in sp, could be a good buying opportrunity

mitzy - 31 Mar 2005 08:21 - 965 of 2444

yes they have stablised around th 250/260p level for now ready for the next move upwards we know they ae going to be volatile in the short term but when the next news is out they should resume their upward trend.. lots of things going on behind the scenes so anything could and will happen.
