My opinion (for what it's worth) is this is a good RNS. The placing took place at above yesterdays closing price, which shows confidence in the company and also, if asda take up the rights to use it exclusivly, I think they would have to pay extra for that otherwise seo would be better selling it to all and sundry.

There's the second RNS, option for 60 days.

Yes don't forget asda are owned by WalMart so it wont be exclusivity to just Asda it would include the parent company (I think). Maybe thats why Asda wont the agreement because of parent company, if it is the case then this is huge because it opens up the whole WalMart market...

Adie, 38 million shares in normal circumstances would have a drastic affect, however these are not normal circustances. We have a company who have gained a major competitive advantage over the rest of the packaging market. I know I keep banging on about it but this is potentially huge. The extra shares at above yesterdays price only demonstrates confidence as the price looks to be pushing on again.
Tesco and Sainsbury will get the technology through contract packers, believe me they will not let ASDA steal their thunder.

wilbs,
The way i read it is, Asda want to be the first chain to use this technology, remember they are huge, i think the trials will still continue with the other companies. If one co. can be the first to use it,it gives them a boost and any little bit of an advantage can mean a lot in this field IMO

Couldn't wait any longer. I had to get in (14.94). I may have got the timimg wrong in the short term but everything I read suggests there is lots of room for growth long term.

adieH....yes, the option is just for the UK and Ireland, if Walmart want to use it the US that would really set this share alight.

Supercenters
Supercenters
The growing demand for one-stop shopping led to Wal-Mart's decision to build full-line grocery department into many of its new stores. Referred to as Supercenters, Wal-Mart stores with grocery departments offer the ultimate in convenience - grocery shopping and 36 departments of discount general merchandise under one roof.
Concept
The Wal-Mart Supercenter provides one-stop family shopping convenience. The store combines a full-line of groceries and general merchandise department under one roof. The first Wal-Mart Supercenter opened in Washington, Missouri, on March 1, 1988.
Wal-Mart Supercenters are designed to save customers time and money, while providing a unique shopping experience. Through efficient operations and high-volume sales, the Wal-Mart Supercenter offers Every Day Low Prices on top-quality, name-brand merchandise.
Merchandise Features
Supercenters feature 36 general merchandise departments including a complete apparel department with accessories, an extensive fine jewelry department, a lawn & garden center, a large health & beauty aids department, a full line of electronics and a pharmacy department. In addition, grocery areas generally feature a bakery, delicatessen, frozen food section, meat & dairy and fresh produce departments. Supercenters also often include Wal-Mart Specialty Shops such as our Vision Center, Tire & Lube Express and One-Hour Photo Processing.
Store Features
Designed to provide a pleasant and hassle-free shopping experience, Wal-Mart Supercenters are enhanced with wide aisles, helpful signing throughout the store, departmental directories and 24-hour service. Supercenters are also equipped with a customer service desk and scanning registers for fast, efficient checkout service.
Supercenters average between 100,000 and 220,000 square feet of retail space. Depending on size and customer needs, they employ between 200 and 550 Associates, each dedicated to exceptional customer service. As in all of our Wal-Mart stores, checks, Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express cards are accepted.

The early days were simple - Mr. Sam, along with his bird dog 'Ol Roy, would fly his 1948 Ercoupe to seek out new Wal-Mart store locations, and as legend has it, to check out the competition. These humble beginnings ultimately led to the formation of Wal-Mart Aviation in 1969. From the first departmental flight in a Piper Aztec to the present, with the largest corporate fleet of Learjets in the world, Wal-Mart Aviation's dedicated team of professionals continue to provide world-wide air transportation to our Wal-Mart Associates that is second to none in terms of safety, reliability and flexibility. Wal-Mart Aviation is an integral part of Wal-Mart Stores' day-to-day business operations and provides the company a competitive advantage over its competition.
Wal-Mart Aviation consists of operations, maintenance, scheduling, and an administrative staff that works in unison to transport thousands of Associates annually.
