Robb,
All seems to be ok with everyone else - croc has reverted to an older version of the Header.
What isp are you using?

Back in after shopping.
Have still got the problem. Opened up stockwatch successfuly, clicked on traders room to open in another window, clicked on the traders thread and bang, down we went - both IE windows closed, and my home page opened up. All going OK until the traders page opened.
No firewall or anything on this machine, W98SE, loads of memory. Afnother site works OK (not trying to be pointed at all, know they wouldn't respond at all!).

Ian - on a locally provided 1mb wireless broadband connection that ultimately goes thru ntl. I've checked with them and there are no problems and its been smooth and fast since I've had it. The problem is intermittant (about 8-10 times), only started happening today and only in relation to the traders thread and on no other website. I've cleared temp internet files and cookies just in case.

Ian - I may have jumped the gun with post 959 as I had just been to the traders thread and come out when I saw your post 958. Have just been back to the traders thread with the header removed and it seems to be fine. As I said, it is intermittant but the things that seem to trigger it like "all messages" or "previous" seemed to work ok.
Cache cleared, will go and try again.
Your help is appreciated.
Regards
Rob

Ian, everything working OK since Croc removed the header. So now we have a suspect ;-)

I used a Matrox 550 32mb for 2 screens and never had a single problem with it over a couple of years. Currently run the new Matrox P750 64mb for three screens and am very pleased with it. They do a P650 for two screens with 64mb. If you don't play games then I would be surprised if you ever see a difference. Boyse started an excellent thread for graphics cards which I'll bring to the top for you.

mikeran,
No complaints with the Matrox G200mms Quad. You can pick them up regularly on E-Bay for around 80.

I run a Matrox G200 quad card too and no complaints here either.
It has two sockets and comes with two double leads which you plug into the two sockets - but I only run three monitors not four so the fourth monitor lead just flaps around at the back of the PC.
When I right click on a blank area on the Desktop and then left click on
Display Properties
Settings
I see the monitor numbers "1,2,3,4" all side by side but of course Number 4 isn't actually a runner.
My monitors are all the old fashioned 'Sony Trinitron 200ES' (17") and are set at 85Hz refresh rate, 1024 by 768 pixels and True Color (24bit). Cracking picture quality too and I don't get any eye strain.
Don't forget to have the "1,2,3,4" set 'perfectly side by side' or the mouse pointer doesn't flow straight when you move it across the screens.

I know with computer games I am a sad person but I do like the odd game of doom but as posted previously it will not work under windows xp and the only possible solution was a dual boot between dos/windows 3.11/windows xp...so I thought...
However with computers all things are possible.....some Harvard genius endorsed by ID software (dooms writers) has written some software that you download for free and it converts doom into 32 bit with fantastic graphics with mouse/gameplayer support.....its called kickstart and you get it for free via ID softwares main site under "problems" why will my mouse not work

Faxes are sent directly to the recipient's machine by a dial-up connection, so you will need a dial-up modem to send a fax. There are cheap PCI modems available on eBay for 10 or less if you don't already have one. XP has fax software built in.
There are also web sites that will receive your fax via the internet and send it for you, but it would probably be much cheaper to buy your own modem.
