Fred, your comment 'There are stun guns etc. which could have rendered BL unconscious and carried out.' i now just plain silly.
The last thing I want to be worrying about when flying into such a dangerous and unknown situation would be 'Did I put my stun gun on charge last night?' I would simply want to get in, do the job and get out alive with minimal risk to the team.

apart from the actual logistics of getting BL out of pakistan in one piece, there would then be huge problems in all sports of ways (just think about it) in keeping him alive and safe and putting him on trial and so on all the way down the line
morally, it was probably wrong to shoot him, but i'm sure it was actually much the best and least risky solution for the rest of the world ..... the end assuredly justified the means

raw,
I added an etc.
Have a look at the information at their disposal. methods and other weaponry which have been employed.
Also, an important factor in this incursion was it was into another Sovereignty.
The repercussion may be less than helpful to the outcome in Afghanistan and other areas of the world.
Also, Gaddafi has kill thousands of Libyans, other "charmers" have kill thousands and yet allowed to live,
Is a question of who is filling our back pockets.
It stinks of double standards.
The sanctimonious hypocrisy which is being portrayed is offensive.

How can it be morally wrong to kill him ?
Why. even in the Bible "God" kills people for small little indiscretions.
He killed some for mocking a bald man - that is in the Bible.
I think God kills well over 250 people as documented in the Old Testament.
Only these silly new age "liberals" who have a problem with killing scum.

A stun gun causes clenching and/or rigidity of the limbs.
Trigger in hand, hand clenches, boom!

fred - i'm afraid this is another occasion when you have got carried away on your own torrent of tosh, and no, i'm not going to waste my time shredding your joke logic and comment piece by piece ..... the guys and gals on this board have enough brain cells to see what nonsense you spout without any help from me

adding an etc doesn't mean anything.
Carrying anything other than lethal weaponry into such a situation would be plainly stupid and likely to lead to possible indecision and the death of one or more of the special forces.
I know what I would take given the choice and it would be at the most two guns with ammo and a knife. I wouldn't even bother with cable ties to handcuff him.

So to sum up the weeks posts on this thread most of us agree that the derf of Bin Laden was deserved and has made the world a better place.
Mind you he obviously has at least one fan.
Note.........the anagram of derf!
Will be out of internet reach till the 15th as walking the Cleveland Way for charity.
Thought about being trendy this year and collecting money for the One legged, lesbian, gay gypsy benevolent fund, but after some though, decided to donate to my usual charity, the local hospice.

Fred you are trying to widen the argument but sticking to the death of BL , imo , however he got his comeuppance is ok with me.
Go watch all the videos he's made over the last ten years and then tell me he deserved a trial , he signed his own death warrant.
As for Special Forces carrying stun guns instead of real weapons your having a laff.

He may not have deserved a trial, but, if possible, the "world" did.
The special forces are generally big "boys" and could carry a few extra tools, after all they carried BL's body.
Never met the Americans "boys", but have known a few British "lads".
Carrying out "orders" is never a successful plea in a court of law.

I wonder how long Dil will take before he catches on that replying to Fred's posts is a pointless waste of time , the only time i reply is to show him up as the pathetic little man he is, who else would create threads simply to wind people up.
