A new non-java Trades page has been launched

George (ex MoneyAM) - 04 Mar 2014 15:46

Hi Everyone,

To complement the new html stockwatch, we've just released a new version of the Trades page which provides a non-Java version of streaming. In addition there is a tidier layout and some more information on the page than before. For people having problems with the new version, there is still the option to choose the Java Streaming version on that page.

Please provide feedback of bugs etc.

Thanks
George

55011: Sorry, I stand corrected. I thought they shipped Window 7 with IE9 because IE8 is old (released 5 years ago). My own first W7 machines came with IE9. Anyway, we don't really support IE8 because it is I'm sorry to say, old and rubbish! It has a terrible javascript engine that is too slow to run modern websites including our streaming services. An upgrade is the only viable option.

George,

Agreed. The Win 7 /IE8/latest Java update/MAM "java based pages" was getting very bad. The reversion to older java (v25 -I think) was my workaround for that.

I see there is an IE11 now. Maybe first I will try your new screens with Firefox and Win7 and just see how that compares for MAM.

It seems to me that in general use, Firefox v IE (or others) is more a matter of what layout one is generally accustomed to.......

I might also make a general point to add to what I mentioned earlier about data other than trades on the new "trades" page, that I mostly use a mobile broadband PAYG arrangement. So I am concious of a sense of waste if I have to download repetitively stuff I really don't need to see.

And just to round off, I was watching Oilex (OEX) this morning using both old and new trades pages. I noted that the VWAP figure was sometimes showing "5" when there had not even been any trades as high as that figure - never mind an an average!

Cheers.....
