I'm actually warming a bit towards TM. Her negotiation task is phenomenally difficult.

After watching her in the H of C this afternoon, I actually do now think she does seem to be doing a reasonable job on things. I cannot see who would do better.

God knows how you get a most probably unnecessary, unneeded and unwanted backstop written up into an agreement, that will satisfy the EU, the Brexiteers and TM and her team too.

Should just tell the EU to like it or lump it re N Ireland.

We won't be putting a hard border up so up to them what they want to do and that goes for deal or no deal.

So tell me how the EU will cope with the N Ireland border problem if we walk away with no deal.

UK stance is clear , not putting any hard borders in place and any questions ring Brussels.

EU will have a much bigger problem with the border if there is no deal than if they accept our current proposals whatever they are.

Fred , if there are going to be tail backs here then they'll be twice as bad on the other side of the channel given we probably import twice the amount of goods from the EU than we export.

Their tail backs will be from Calais to Frankfurt going on your calculations.

Divide the Imports/exports by 27 and then compare to UK.

Fred , what are you rambling on about now as I fail to see your point. The EU export more to us in goods and it comes in through the same places ours go out from so the problem will be bigger on the other side of the channel.

If the UK were to walk away without a deal, I would've thought the EU would just create their own hard Irish border. I'm sure they'd be within their rights to do so, and there'd be naff all that the UK would be able to do about it.

I can see where they're coming from on this issue. You might be happy to eat imported American chlorinated chicken and hormone injected beef, but I wouldn't want to see it in my boucherie!

You will see TM working on the "Jersey Way" deal - The Channel Islands seem to have a very soft boarder with the EU.

That is the joker up her sleeve the corrupt tax haven that the UK and Royals love.

CT - if you research, i think you'll find that the channel islands are very open with hmrc ..... perhaps you think the cayman islands and panama are attached to them

Then go and read the old unreported judgements from the Royal Court in Jersey and see the number of cases that one judge in particular has been repeatedly accused of corrupt behaviour, one that refuses to recuse himself repeatedly.

Hils , the EU has pledged not to introduce a hard border in Ireland and that's what the fuss is about.

They want us to introduce one between the mainland and N Ireland instead so they can keep their promise to the Irish.

There will be ructions between the Irish and EU if we leave with no deal and they try to introduce a hard border on the Irish side.

So ultimately it's the EUs problem as the UK will not put up a hard border and so far the EU have done bugger all to come up with a workable solution.

It's them that need a back stop not us as deal or no deal we aren't putting up a hard border and aren't the ones worried about it.
