Sham and Paul were out trekking in the wilderness looking for animals. They had followed a track for a long, long time. "I think it's a bear", said Sham. ""Naw, it is definately a bull", said Paul. And then they were both run over by the train.

Can anyone tell me what a 'WT' trade is, please (noting the 750,000 buy which went through late on)?

qc - 20 Sep 2005 17:50 - 9669 of 27111

The recent press reports and Northern Foods website mention that 'new range and new packaging' is one reason given for Northern Foods getting the deal. My gut reaction regardless of SEO is that Northern Foods and/or ASDA would want to announce what the 'new' items are first to get the benefit in SP and exposure etc etc. That may very well include Greenseal/Starpol.

HW blundering in saying Greenseal is on the agenda(to Lemming Investor or anyone else) at Northern Foods before they and ASDA announce the details themselves would not be good business for anyone. It may help the SEO SP but not do the company any long term favours IMO. Thats why I personally think that Northern Foods will be on SEO's hitlist but just not at the current time. Of course, Howard must have to tell Lemming Investor EVERYTHING?? I would think there is a lot going on that will remain very private for various reasons.

And beyond that, it hardly appears to me that Greenseal is dead in the water if they are still working with several ASDA suppliers?

Q.

qc - 20 Sep 2005 17:54 - 9670 of 27111

And to add to that as I cannot see an amend button.

Northern foods IMO have a lot to do in a short period to get their contract up and running, staff and setting up lines spring to mind. That said I think it would be sensible from their perspective to get up and running smoothly before adopting a new technology such as Greenseal. Another reason why we should stop bickering, worrying and putting all our money on Northern Foods being the be all and end all.

It's not bags, not any of my three big ideas anyway .... S.P.Metals already have them, and that part of Biotec is all theirs, Stanelco will not infringe it .... LOL !

Wasn't there a conference somewhere this month where SEO were exhibiting?

W1sefool - 20 Sep 2005 18:26 - 9674 of 27111

PM and ALL,

I've just spoken to Tony Ruane from ASDA and there's nothing to worry about at all. He really is a very accommodating chap. I'm very confident with my invested.

We talked about Starpol and the price of oil, and even progress in the USA..its all good.

DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.....call him yourself and hear it from the Horses month (so to speak)

Thanks to PM for giving me his e-mail address.

paulmasterson1 - 20 Sep 2005 18:29 - 9675 of 27111

As I was saying ealier, several Biotec product RNS's or deals to come over the next few months, including this product .... now try and tell me Stanelco aren't cheap right now :)))

Patent from Biotec .... cigarette filter .... market size 5700,000,000,000 units per annum !!!!

Biodegradable filter material and method for its manufacture

Abstract
There is provided a biodegradable filter tow or filter material from renewable raw materials for the use as a tobacco smoke filter element of cigarettes, cigars or pipes as well as a method for preparing it, wherein fibers, films or foams prepared in an extrusion method from biopolymers based on thermoplastic starch or its polymer compositions are processed to the filter tow or filter material according to the present invention. The advantages of this invention reside in the use of mainly renewable raw materials, a fast and complete biodegradability of the natural biopolymer filter material, a pollutant-reducing flavor-increasing filtering effect and an economically favorable preparation method.

Three-quarters of all tobacco users are now in developing countries, and they consume nearly 60 percent of the 5700 billion cigarettes worldwide smoked each year, says the report.

In 2003, BAT produced 792 billion cigarettes worldwide, with a global market share of 14.6 per cent.

792 / 14.6 x 100 = 5424,000,000,000 cigarettes in 2003

Masterson

No one is interested in your looney ideas, take them to a chat room; this is a Stanelco thread after all.

ps The difference between a patent and getting every cigarette manufacturer in the world to buy your idea once you've invented it is HUGE, no need for sheets of googled stuff on how many ciggies are smoked each year; theirs a good chap.
