How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Hi Guys, I am in the US at the moment hopefully returning some point next week. So I have been a bit quiet. No idea when the book will finally get published but autumn is pretty likely. I have a few hoops to jump through before publication also.

see tottenhams price is more realistic now west ham have announced a strongish side - managed to lay at 1.83 - 4/5 away against a top half side just because they "need" to win - anyone backing spurs today at odds on needs there heads examining!

Fundamentalist - 07 May 2006 14:18 - 9674 of 10502

didnt realise the price shift came cos tottenham players had gone down with food poisoning - pmsl - nice to see them getting the excuse in early

WOODIE - 07 May 2006 14:48 - 9675 of 10502

fundy dont be basis with this answer but why are they not showing the spurs game live? but the gunners

Woodie

i guess they always planned to show the last game at Highbury - personally think if they can only show 2 games it should be the arsenal and spurs games as they have the most resting on them

to be honest i dont understand why they havent got all games on the "red button" so people can pick and choose. and why they are showing the united game when the diff between 2nd and 3rd is meaningless whereas the diff between 4th and 5th is huge

Fundamentalist - 07 May 2006 14:55 - 9678 of 10502

If arsenal are 3-0 up after half an hour and tottenham 0-0 i know which game id want to be watching - but for some reason sky wont have the flexibility to switch

Ps on all accounts when Ruud Van Nistelrooy walked out of Old Trafford the steward asked why the long face ?

Fundamentalist - 07 May 2006 14:55 - 9679 of 10502

ps not saying the above scenario will happen

Fundamentalist - 07 May 2006 14:56 - 9680 of 10502

would love to be at highbury today :-(

will miss the old place, holds many a good memory

WOODIE - 07 May 2006 14:59 - 9681 of 10502

fundy thanks cant understand why they got the utd game on as you said last games why not on the red button so you can choose.

Fundamentalist - 07 May 2006 15:01 - 9682 of 10502

they are able to show 8 champs league games on one night so why not ten games on last day of premiership?

come on West Ham!!!!!

Fundamentalist - 07 May 2006 15:09 - 9683 of 10502

also why are only 3 of the prem games inplay - unbelievable from betfair imo
