Yep, but ruddy country still seems to have a few snags yet. Our new guest should have lingered a bit longer - the scenery markedly improved as time went on.....
Did you catch that train Stan? It was as I suspected, because just after you started running I heard the announcement confirming the arrangments for you over the tannoy. They should have a bookie on board at Telford taking bets on whether the eastbound service would get past Wolverhampton. Business opportunity there for someone!
I went back on the direct, and was in good time to do my duty in a deserted polling station. Seems they hadn't had much of a rush all day.
Sorry to hear about Chris, hopefully things will get better for him. And for us too!!

Good morning all .................. thanks for your warm welcome.
Already looking forward to the next get together.
It's good to share ideas sand encourage each other, face to face ..................
it can be lonesome, pondering over a screen all day.
New faces welcome.

Hope everybody arrived home. The meet did my portfolio a power of good. Some of my larger holds are up this morning and smaller holds down, which is a change from the last few months.
Nice to meet Amar in the flesh. (be quiet 551). Hope to meet again at the next meeting.
Strange meeting not sure what we were talking about, but the world seems OK to-day. So none of our major decisions adversely affected the markets.
Next time we may talk about shares again.
Stan, I will send you the name of the another pub, near the centre of town which will be perhaps a little quieter.
Also recipies will be in the E-mails shortly.
Have a look at VLK and EPO. Smaller companies but have had good contracts under their belts. The potential for growth are tremendous. (Small bets only)

Ian. You must have a little smile on your face after to-day's market.
I have sent you some fairly beefy e-mails, sorry if they clog the machines.

I'm happy to accumulate oversold stocks in present market and sit on them until ;-)
On short term basis then limiting my attentions to just dipping in/out of one stock on a regular basis. That's EXPN - so that was quite a 'nice' performer today.....

You are all very quiet out there. Must be playing with your trains (sets).
Probably, won't be around for about six weeks as somebody has shown an interest in my body.
551, your choice of MCRO is beginning to show signs of recovery. Not impress by future forecasts, but the market obviously is and there is a broker's price of 290 for it. I would be happier with a little more.
Anyway, behave yourselves if you have a meeting when I am not there, and for Gods sake, don't tell anybody how much I drink, or it will be all over the papers.

..... please don't talk about b***S$% trains ...... I'm still needing medicinal alcohol to help me recover from my last 'journey' - was on a day return to London (Euston) on Tuesday ..... bank holiday engineering works at Rugby didn't overrun but signal / power problems at Bletchley caused severe delays for several hours..... and situation not helped by the pa system not working in the carraige I was in .... so back to Chiltern Railways again in future ..... slower schedule but surer to be on-time.....
Fred .... good luck with your medical engineering work ....

Here is some safety advice for when on and around the stations served by Wrexham & Shropshire:
Do keep your eyes open for any objects that may be on the floor in and around the station.
Do they mean milk churns?
And look at the dedication of the staff:
The steward serves food and drink from the buffet bar. He / she will also walk the length of the standard class coaches from time to time to make sure that the needs of any passengers who find it difficult to make their way to the buffet bar.

..... there's also that person that sold gold off at about $250 that resides there....
.... and back to the Wrexham Railway .... they seem to consider on-board drivers a point worth mentioning...!:
The driver is part of the on-board team collectively responsible for the immaculate quality of your journey.
PS: Anyone know what a "cafearianna" is?
Our stewards serve food and drink from the cafearianna, as well as helping out with anything else.

More crew than punters when I was on it! Did yours stop in New Street too? Farcical.

It seems that W&S are putting great emphasis on the fact that we won't have to change at New Street (with the possibility of the connection miss) rather then journey time and ticket cost improvements over what Virgin currently offer.
Journey times probably will come down in the next time table, but very surprised about the level of cost of the service from the off! Remember they don't get any subsidy from government so are purely a private operation.
Only time will tell of course.
Think they must have some flexibility on where they stop as I noticed that they stopped at Wembley Stadium yesterday.

Hmmmm. I seem to remember the first connecting service out of Tamebridge Parkway was cancelled, and the following service was late............... Not much in the way of facilities there either - other than a full car park!
