Got to be worth a try (though never done that myself) as I think you have proved that space on C drive is your main problem. Worth backing up as much as you can to a flash drive or external hard drive just in case it all goes wrong.

klal - 31 Oct 2011 13:38 - 9697 of 11003

Yep, doing just that. Got my 1TB USB drive out. After backing up the C and D drives, will go ahead and expand the C drive. Fingers crossed!

When I move away from Stockwatch, but leave the window upon, many times it doesn`t update the prices, and I have to refresh, also MAM seem not to be able to
pin point why if I move to another window and come back to Stockwatch it demands I re- log in, not a big problem but annoying.

Anyone else bugged by this?

ExecLine - 04 Nov 2011 13:02 - 9699 of 11003

This sounds to me as though you are accessing the data, whilst it is stored in some kind of cache and then said cache gets full up and then it is emptied and re-filled with you doing the 'Refresh'.

Who is your ISP?

By the way, I would presume you've checked whether you have the latest Java?

The login problem is to do with various MAM cookies.

You can have a look at them, by say using CCleaner, and then select the ones that you want to either keep or delete as and when you "Housekeep" and 'Delete Cookies'.

This would allow you to go through a sorta kinda 'start again with tidied up MAM cookies'.

Cheers Exec, yes re.Java but when I click on the Java link it tells me I am running an old Java, then when I download the latest one it tells me I have it already, hmmm.

ISP is BT,no other probs with them at all.

Anyone still getting the annoying Java Fatal Error note on the desktop? First day today of a new computer and guess what? Bl++dy Java error message! Stockwatch applet seems to be the cause. Help please. I don't want my lovely new machine to end up like the last one with a desktop littered with these wretched notes. What is going on?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Nov 2011 10:00 - 9704 of 11003

TOK,

It seems to be an IE9 - Java compatability issue - does it happen if you try another browser such as chrome or firefox?

The Other Kevin - 08 Nov 2011 10:03 - 9705 of 11003

Not loaded Chrome or Mozilla on this machine and I don't really want to. Can't remember if it happened with Mozilla on the old machine.

iiwarm - 08 Nov 2011 11:03 - 9706 of 11003

moved to correct thread

ExecLine - 08 Nov 2011 16:56 - 9707 of 11003

I use IE9.0.8112.16421 and I don't get any Java issues with Stockwatch.

iiwarm - 08 Nov 2011 18:06 - 9708 of 11003

Exec
same here until this weekend when I updated Java.
After some playing around found that moneyam was no longer excluded in popup blocker. Once done everything was back to normal.

iiwarm - 09 Nov 2011 11:10 - 9709 of 11003

TOK
updated my java to latest at the weekend and getting loads of error messages today.
No need to clutter up desktop just delete them, they're only text files.

ExecLine - 09 Nov 2011 14:00 - 9710 of 11003

Important piece of Stockwatch info':

After some playing around found that moneyam was no longer excluded in popup blocker. Once done everything was back to normal.

Pressing the 'Ctrl' button on the keyboard can often be of useful help.

The Other Kevin - 11 Nov 2011 08:31 - 9711 of 11003

Good morning Windows 7 users

Some snags on my lovely new setup on which I need some help please.

1.- The 23" TFT screen is set at 1680x1050 (recommended) resolution with small type but when the machine is awakened after a deep sleep it defaults to 800x600 with grotesque large type. How can I stop this happening?

2. -The Network display shows I am connected to my BT home hub and also TalkTalk CB1854. Who is this TalkTalk? Has someone hijacked my network?

2.- When looking at Stockwatch if I scroll with the mousewheel the screen relists the stocks one by one at every notch of the scroll. Is this another Explorer 9 compatability issue?

Thanks in advance. TOK

Has anyone experience of the RADEON 6450 1GB graphics card please?

Bobcolby - 21 Nov 2011 18:47 - 9713 of 11003

Skinny

Nope but I have just installed a GIGABYTE 512MB GV-N84S-5121 purchased from Amazon for 22.99.
Its working very well on W7 Professional and is acting as a dual graphics card with 2 monitors. I do not use PC for games, just trading

skinny - 22 Nov 2011 07:00 - 9714 of 11003

Thanks Bob - I'll take a look. I'm interested in an I5 or Phenom II x 4 with something like the Radeon 6450. I've used a Radeon 9700 with 2 monitors for 8 years and have always been impressed with its performance/value.

Richgit69 - 30 Nov 2011 21:04 - 9715 of 11003
