Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Hi Anna, no I think this ones going to be a real star on what I have been told. People thought everything was already in the price last time and look what happened. Anyway it looks like we are not just looking at one contract but others aswell.

There's high expectation of another deal being announced next week and a further one end Feb/early March. I also have a suspicion that we may get completely unexpected good news, possibly an early startup of Ostomy production by Convatec (currently expected 04H2), possibly a settlement with SEO, possibly an entirely new application, possibly another global licensing deal, who knows? What is clear, though, is that the price has started to tick up on good volumes during the last 2 days in exactly the same way as it did for 3-4 days prior to the FMC announcement.
For what it's worth, my view is that the next deal - directly with a pharma, hopefully - is the real "company maker". This is the deal that will:
(a) Cement confidence amongst the investment community that Bio delivers on its promises.
(b) Confirm that it genuinely does have a world-changing technology (though I think most of us there already.)
(c) Will establish a market cap that moves it onto institutional radar screens.
(d) Most importantly, will highlight a gelatine alternative to a BSE-aware population, the US, that will have the other pharmas tearing down the door - they really won't like the competitive and marketing advantages that this will give the early-adopters.
I think we might enjoy next week and possibly again 2 weeks thereafter and, from what Graham Hind says, again and again and again....
Have a great weekend and be kind to each other tomorrow!

The shares closed up 5.8per cent at 127 1/2p".

Janus,
Well we've certainly started well today!
I toped up using two different tradig accounts, and the price moved several pence in between me making the first and second trades!
At least the larger of my two trades made it before the big leap!

THE COUNT--->JANUS
Believe me, that is pretty normal.
I would be more surprised if a company on AIM with a market cap of well over 100m and in the news so much, DIDN'T host a presentation for analysts.
There is nothing unusual at all. Still, don't let that detract you from the fantastic growth story we have in the making here.
Yes, today, certainly is quite a gay day indeed!
THE COUNT!

Daily Mail Market Report
There's no stopping BioProgress. The AIM listed provider of delivery mechanisms for the pharmaceutical oral dose markets jumped 14p more to 141.5p. It is said to be sitting on another mouthwatering licensing deal for its NROBE dosage technology which should be announced this week
Independant
BioProgress added 14p to 141.5p as traders piled into the medical equipment developer ahead of full year figures on 8 March. Those buying into the stock were encouraged by talk that there may be some positive news flow from the group before the results. Word has it the group is close to securing a licensing deal for its disposal colostomy pouch with a major US pharmaceutical company.
Daily Express
Bioprogress improved 14p to 142.5 yesterday as confirmation of the company's annual figures on March 8 triggered more speculative buying. A tie-up with a drugs giant is rumoured after a deal with FMC for its technology to make a soluble cover for pills.

The paper snippets (Mail, Independent, Express) gave the MMs an excuse to lift off first thing and suck in some punters and then drop the price back and panic a few out at lower prices. Classic play.
As for the papers, the reporting sucks. The Mail talks of NRobe. Too late, already taken by FMC. Another talks of Bristol Myers Squibb and the ostomy deal. Too late, signed months ago.
The RNS last November says the deal will be with a top-ten US over-the-counter pharma company. Can't the hacks do any basic research?

Adie, this'll be to cover off their CFD exposure. There's a hell of a lot of "hot" money in BPRG. Bit of a shame really, such a large trading contingent means that BPRG will have a very volatile ride. Interesting to note too that IG Index reached their 2% limit last week. Though the two together does not necessarily = 5%, it's possible that IG may have hedged their position with a GNI CFD! Oh what a complicated web we weave...

Most of the tabloids and broadsheets mentioned BPRG today. Dealers have been expecting the next big deal, greater than the FMC announcement. This has undoubtedly fuelled the recent heady rise what we have witness last week, which continued on Monday only to pause for breath Tuesday.
Rumours and speculation is rife that a deal with one of the large pharmaceutical for BPRG`s NRobe will be announced this week. Any rumour would not be complete without a bid for the company.
IMO there is not the slightest possibility of any hostile takeover until the technology is proven on continuous production in a few sites; and there are no persistent troubles running or sealing the film. No organisation is going to risk the 300m neccessary to make an acquisition until they have the technical confidence.
It is agreed that FMC and HH did their due diligence enough to accept long term high value commitments but it is certain that they were assisted in resolving all normal doubts by plenty of varied and thorough disclosure unavailable to unwanted predators.
That gives at least six months grace. That also gives the share price plenty of time to respond to the following short term events:
The contract cementing the letter of intent due any minute
A third contract hinted at by GH
the first year results due March 8
reaction to the first in depth analyst's report
orders/contracts emanating from FMC's clients
questioning at the AGM
By that time few who know the share well, will be surprised to see a price of 3 - particularly if the company can, at any one of these opportunities, announce satisfactory production operation on a real, substantial market product introduced by Farmasierra, or an FMC client, or at Peter Black now Perrigo.
As pointed out here yesterday the resultant of the forces of greed and fear acting on the share price seems fairly constant with the share price hugging the centre trend +/- 10p, and rising an average of 6p/day . It failed to make an advance today because IMO it outran the trend, and was overbought yesterday. If demand does not deteriorate it is not inconceivable that this trend which broke out on Feb 2 could be maintained, and the 3 level achieved during the spring. That does not mean that I am forecasting that it will - just that it is not at all inconceivable. It equates to a forecast of 10m/pa profit for 2005 - on a PE of 30. For a growth rate of the kind certain to be experienced if the technology works out, that is not too fanciful a PE, and the concomittant 10m profit is well within reach for next year.
Both authors have an interest in BPRG.
