Anyone else going to haydock saturday?

stockbunny - 14 Jul 2004 09:59 - 9717 of 23498

Good Morning!
Not the greatest it seems today both weather-wise and market-wise...

Lunch menu for this wet day....

Starters:
Florida Cocktail
(grapefruit, oranges and curacao - a sunny state start!)

Tomato and Pesto salad
(For memories of that holiday in the Med....)

Soused Sardines on Toast
(A reminder of the tube in rush-hour for some or Tesco's car park on Saturday)

Main Courses:
Beef and Ale Pie
(A hearty olde-worlde puff pastry pie from the time when ale was ale
and lager wasn't invented)

Chicken Chasseur
(A taste of France via Poochy's kitchen)

Bacon cooked in cider
(West country edge to this one, served with apples slices and OHWW AHH!
pitchforks and worsels are however optional extras..)

Cauliflour and broccalli cheese bake with pine nuts.
(Basically for the rest of us less carnivorous folk!)

All served with new potatoes (again I know - we've got a job lot!)
runner beans, baked onions and fresh spring greens (Eaten up Or no dessert!)

Desserts:
Plum crumble and custard
Gooseberry Fool
Hot ginger souffle
Sherry trifle Ala Socco.

(Service not included - so serve yourself!!)

optomistic - 14 Jul 2004 10:15 - 9718 of 23498

Good Morning Bunny, lovely menu, was going to finish off some cold chicken leftover from yesterday but its got to be the beef and ale pie now.
How are you doing with the PC?

stockbunny - 14 Jul 2004 10:38 - 9719 of 23498

Still considering where to order my replacement from, hopefully will sort
that today, pcworlds site is quite good - samsung one for under 20....
Need to pull finger out and get it ordered to be honest!

Poor machine sits here click-clicking away still trying to fully shut the
broken dvd/cdrom tray thingy...its so sad and pathetic!

jgp212 - 14 Jul 2004 10:48 - 9720 of 23498

:-)

Jeff

optomistic - 14 Jul 2004 10:49 - 9721 of 23498

20 is not bad for a DVD, probably find one cheaper but it would mean looking around, its just the little bit of guidance you need to fit it, they should help at PC world some of the young lads in there are really up to it with PC's
and helpful.
If you want to stop the clicking just: power off, remove tower case, earth, unplug power lead from DVD drive from inside, it is straightforward :-))

stockbunny - 14 Jul 2004 10:58 - 9722 of 23498

I'm going to enlist someone I know who has taken a PC apart before
when I can get hold of them, to watch/guide me replacing the dvd drive
once I've done it once I'll feel happy about doing it again if needs be..

snoball - 14 Jul 2004 13:05 - 9723 of 23498

Oh my God! Food!
I'll have the Tomato & Pesto to start, no, the sardines.
Beef for the main dish and for pudders the crumble with cream instead of custard.
What an imaginative, clever person you are stockbunny.

stockbunny - 14 Jul 2004 13:08 - 9724 of 23498

Oh crumble with cream not custard...ummm..OK then as it's you snowie!
So how's things in the snoball universe?
Hopefully more interesting then in the land-of-bun..
Its very very quiet in there today....

stockbunny - 14 Jul 2004 13:33 - 9725 of 23498

Whoops...looks like I scared him away - wonder if he still wants
his lunch???

stockbunny - 14 Jul 2004 15:04 - 9726 of 23498

Just warming up some left-over chocolate fudge cake for opto, when he decides
to come in...wonder if his 'radar' is working if it is, he'll smell
it and stroll in shortly.....
