MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

Didn't expect another HUGE fall today :(

swseun - 31 Mar 2005 16:30 - 974 of 2444

Is the issue of share making the price cheaper?

seawallwalker - 31 Mar 2005 16:36 - 975 of 2444

10k sahre issue on the 29th, was not enough to make any difference.

This is just down to the Market movers and shakers.

If MMG is solid enough according to what is known, then day to day movements should not really matter long term.

I say that as one who does watch day to day.

Sometimes not a good idea.

GOLDFINGER you must be watching the fall, but it looks mms are trying to get some stock cheap ,but not mine how about yourself, also off topic how about neteller do you still hold them or is it time to sell them.

No worries about the weakness over the past few days, profit taking plain and simple, which has to be expected when a stock has risen in the manner this one has. There is no reason to panic for longer term holders whatsoever, as the the newsflow prospects will see this one keep jumping.

mickeyskint - 31 Mar 2005 16:53 - 979 of 2444

Topped up. 2nd time today. To be honest I'm a bit overweight with these but who cares.

thanks for the reply i had my finger on the sell button, but something stopped me,and i think it was a wise move wish i could have added more at 230p this afternoon oh well such is life.

andysmith - 31 Mar 2005 17:11 - 981 of 2444

Hope I'm right and you are all right, that is having sold earlier this week to take substantial profit I am hoping for fall back close to 200p so that I can buy more back for the same dosh. Why?? I have held these since March 2004 and seen this so many times, good rise followed by significant falls. The momentum is there now but I still think it ran too far on Genvax news alone so I took a chance on selling and buying back becuase long-term I totally agree with Mitzy and gf that MMG will be massive.

swseun - 31 Mar 2005 17:17 - 982 of 2444

Thanks for ur reply seawallwalker, for last tow days, even sell>buy, it was still up, so encouraging, but today...:_

swseun - 31 Mar 2005 18:56 - 983 of 2444

I am a bit panic here with this one, but still holding.

doughboy66 - 31 Mar 2005 19:46 - 984 of 2444

It has been disappointing today there`s no doubting that, but there`s also no doubting that there is more good news to come and share price will go to new highs .Keep the faith.

woohh... if I have more cash, sure I will top up more and more and more....anyway, it is great to have an encouraging guy like DB66, many thanks.

andysmith - 31 Mar 2005 22:37 - 986 of 2444

swseun, for Gods sake don't sell if you've just got in, no need to take losses as MMG will be rewarding. I've just sold a large part of my holding as I accumulated from 68-71p and thought about time I locked in profits and I did think (gamble) that there would be a drop eventually. 250p support has been exposed, I think IMO it could test 200p in the next few weeks and I will be back in as I also agree with Mitzy that this is a 5 share plus once you can add Ruthenium potential as fact rather than speculation. Hope I judge getting back in before the next push but I have a 20% cushion already on my selling price to buy back in at either 20% less cash for the same number of shares or 20% more shares for the same cash!! I didn't have MMG as one of my 3 tips for 2005 to desert just yet but I didn't expect almost 3 from genvax alone hence my "trading" gamble. When I bought at 68-71p I often saw 50p but held and got my reward but there is plenty of life in MMG sp, its only just begun!!

seawallwalker - 31 Mar 2005 22:50 - 987 of 2444

Remember folks.

A paper loss is only a loss when you sell.

Goldfinger, are you still in the Country?

swseun - 31 Mar 2005 23:57 - 988 of 2444

thanks for all the support guys, I would surely hold it. As seawallwalker said, a paper loss is only a loss when you sell. I was thinking to quit my job last week, luckly that I didn't. :-O

swseun - 01 Apr 2005 00:01 - 989 of 2444

Is michel walters reports again tonight? I think the huge drop today due to end of year as well... shouldn't panic...hold hold hold

mitzy - 01 Apr 2005 00:32 - 990 of 2444

Yes I would imagine its due to the end of the tax year so no need to panic...the whole Aim market is on a downer at the moment so it must be due to current market conditions.
