Sorry stockbunny, I had to go for my real lunch which was not nearly as

Her-indoors just returned from M&S AGM, thoroughly enjoyed it and particularly impressed with the packed lunch (including small bottle of plonk) and high-tech voting system. She is booking her place for next year now, on condition it's not been flogged off by then, naturally.

Golddog - 14 Jul 2004 22:12 - 9750 of 23498

evening socks, not very often someone says they enjoyed an agm and cannot wait till next year! must be good plonk. :-)

Hightone, just recieved your email you sent yesterday, so the reply thing does work but takes a day or two.

I will have a quick Bods then i'm off!

Socrates - 14 Jul 2004 23:30 - 9751 of 23498

Well folks, I'm feeling cream crackered so I'm off to the captain's cabin. Here's looking forward to a blue Thursday, goodnight all.

snoball - 15 Jul 2004 00:09 - 9752 of 23498

zarif, I've not been trading the US indeces as I needed to lick my wounds and try to cure my injured ego as well as stocking up with more cash to lose.
This trading lark isn't just about having a system. It's about having the nouse to follow it. My trading discipline is awful.
The market has been a b***er lately and I'm staying away from it until I think the time is right.
Having said that I have started to update the charts on the Dow thread again. Usually once a week.

zarif - 15 Jul 2004 07:40 - 9753 of 23498

Snoball: Sorry to hear about the trading -but u r right it can take chunks out of you and the YM specially the dow is a beast with a bite. You are doing the right thing by sitting on the fence and watching until it feels the right move is in order, that way you are not looking for tradesits like hunter stalking the prey and go for the kill when the moments right otherwise we become the hunted. Best to get the psychology right and if you have aclear head than thats one battle won.
Thanks for keeping the Dow thread updated and please keep posting comments as i said you are deeply missed.

optomistic - 15 Jul 2004 09:02 - 9754 of 23498

snoball. I dont trade in the same area as you but I do have a trading system and I have the same problem I think. Believing that I am just that little bit cleverer than the decreed format!! Had I stuck to my own predetermined guidelines yes I would have been better off. My aim now is to become more disciplined after some costly lessons.
Good luck to you and the rest of the 'team' and hope its a better day, although it has started off a little dull.

stockbunny - 15 Jul 2004 09:35 - 9755 of 23498

Good Morning All - yes I find myself here again today...
Slight movement on the BLT front is keeping me interested plus
observing the MKS fall-out...please not in MTN's direction!
A round of toast and some orange juice for me...off to do some
research and stock watching for a while!

optomistic - 15 Jul 2004 09:39 - 9756 of 23498

Morning Bunny, Had an early breakfast muesli followed by a kipper, not a regular thing for me but got some on offer at ASDA. BLT seems quite active.

stockbunny - 15 Jul 2004 10:19 - 9757 of 23498

So far so good but really need a bit more before I can move on it..(BLT)
VOD is also doing fairly well today - maybe we have turned the corner
on that one Opto - fingers crossed....
Kippers are really good for you plus the muesli - a good start to the day!
We need to find a way to force-feed the FTSE with that for a while!!

optomistic - 15 Jul 2004 10:32 - 9758 of 23498

BLT looks to have more to go... VOD has a lot more to go, I believe, its just a matter of when the MM's decide its time for the next upswing, assisted by the multitude of traders as well of course!! I think it could be soon. That sort of comment usually preceeds a downswing, but I'll take a chance this time.

stockbunny - 15 Jul 2004 11:12 - 9759 of 23498

No I think you're safe in saying that Opto (not that I have checked the
price for the last 1/2 hr..lol) but I think that's a fair assumption.

optomistic - 15 Jul 2004 11:15 - 9760 of 23498

Bunny, the emails via Mam arrived about 8pm last night, no delay on my other 'normal' emails

stockbunny - 15 Jul 2004 11:26 - 9761 of 23498

Good to know they did arrive but the direct route is definitely quicker!
At least you know it wasn't your ISP..

optomistic - 15 Jul 2004 11:32 - 9762 of 23498

Certainly is Bunny, going to take some outdoor exercise now. Spending too much time at the PC!! Thursday is usually a high activity day but the weather has spoilt it today. Be in later.

Golddog - 15 Jul 2004 12:49 - 9763 of 23498

just in for lunch - i will have the Beef and Ale Pie please bunny. and thanks for such a great menu. x

optomistic, if you want some outside activity, you can come mow my lawn please.

Fundy, just read your profile and see you are 30 this year to, welcome to the club. nice to have someone my own age in here instead of the over 80s (no offence Socs) :-)
