Yes Cyril, should be positive momentum until next hike in resreves. Haven't seen notice of results yet - perhaps holding back to coincide with D & M report.
TMC looks good, just need some funds as my IEC investment is staying put!

2 pieces of news today which will only strengthen IEC position.
1st Announcement to move to the main market end of April.
2nd $200 bank facility arranged.
This accounts for the recent movement experienced of late.

niceonecyril - 23 Mar 2007 17:34 - 101 of 896

Impressive progress this week,SP up from around 11-50p to 13-50p.
Worth looking at the pipeline progress, via the photo's. Try post 89 for
link.

Well IEC broke the 14 barrier and held quite comfortably, a leaky share and the
recent rise seems to suggest "good news" is on the way?
ps
I was under the understanding bb were for shareing info and views, well
somewhere its got lost on this thread. In fact i'm thinking of calling it a day.

Cyril, I don't want to tempt fate by saying too much! It seems PL is a genius. Going to look at the web site now to see exactly what we've got now.
Do you know when the results are out? I thought this info may have been published at the same time.

cynic - 27 Mar 2007 08:47 - 104 of 896

i sit here open-mouthed! ..... i strted looking at this share, of which i had never heard, when sp was 10/1100 and could not see a reason to buy .... congrats to all those who did and also hung on

niceonecyril - 27 Mar 2007 14:45 - 105 of 896

Brian we have will have news next month which should be, the Finals plus an
operations update and also admission to the main Market.Came close to selling more this am, but decided to hold fire with the possiblilty of us joining the top 250.
I see that as a major achievement, which will put IEC on the list for Tracker Funds.
Don't know your position but it seems you've held for more than 2 years, which
qualifies you for only 10% CGT(AIM listed only). That is 10% of PROFIT after using yourallowance of 8800,also if married you can transfer some of your shares to your wife allowing her to use.It will also be possible to put these in an ISA once we
have joined the Main Market.Take my points as something to think about and not telling you what to do.

cynic: I started this thread with the SP at 288p,so a 5 bagger at the moment.Your point about the SP putting you off is valid and many PI's feel the same, but its the
M/Cap along with the fundamentals which are most important. This share is being driven by institutions who are not put off by the high SP.
Their's still a lot of mileage in this share, once the pipeline is finished,6000bopd which in turn will prove up P1/P2 reserves to a much higher level, then on to 1st
10000bopd increasing to 25000bopd(all being well). The SP will be well above 30
come 2008 and even higher in 2009. aimho etc

the sp per se is no worry ..... i am not one of thjose who only buys penny stocks! ..... however, i have never heard of IEC (whereas i have of TLW and BUR for example) so have no idea what i might be buying into - or not as the case may be!

brianc236 - 27 Mar 2007 16:57 - 108 of 896

cyril, thanks for the pointers. My first buy was April 2004 @ 1.19, kept buying until my last buy @ 6.47 Oct 2006. Holding 8000 @ 3.92 ave. I've set myself 30 target, and then review it. Like you I think we could end up higher. After all we,ve got more oil than Cairn. Should be able to afford a good accountant by 2009!
cynic, one thing which impresses me about the company is the relationships with the Tomsk authorities. IEC have been commended for their excellent approach to international business, which has involved presentations to the authorities and sponsorship of the local university. They didn't seem to have any problem getting permission to carve a pipeline through the Siberian forest. If you haven't done already have a look at www.imperialenergy.com

cynic - 27 Mar 2007 17:16 - 110 of 896

thanks for your input guys ..... shall be looking closely, though entry price is quite difficult to judge - e.g. today approx 150+ at one point but only approx 70+ at the end

brianc236 - 13 Apr 2007 13:12 - 111 of 896

This is looking good. I expected a much bigger retraction from 15. Perhaps the move to the main market is already having a steadying influence.
Could be a decent rise over the next couple of weeks, before the switch and ops update.

cynic - 19 Apr 2007 08:01 - 112 of 896

followers of this stock will know exactly why yesterday's plunge ....... whether or not that will be continued remains to be seen ..... however, rsi is now sensible, and now sp has plunged through 25 dma, it is possible that it will hit 50 dma, which those who are keen to dive in, may take as a buying opportunity ..... note that, for whatever reason, the 15.00 all-time high has caused a stumbling block for the 3rd time.

cynic - 19 Apr 2007 11:58 - 113 of 896

strewth guys! ..... sorry to see this debacle, for i fear a number of you will have been well and truly singed .... prob with this sort of stock is that the falls are vicious and self-perpetuating .... i am not sure how serious this "enquiry" is, and if the management is lucky, all will blow over as it did with POG ..... diff there, is that the Hambro family has a century of close involvement with the Russian government and also employs Russian nationals almost exclusively.

eventually the selling will dry up, but that may be not until 900 of 200 dma (850'ish) is hit

blanche - 19 Apr 2007 12:18 - 114 of 896

In a statement, Imperial said the Russia's Natural Resources Ministry has checked the company's oil projects in the country and have found them to be in full compliance of its licence obligations.

Imperial said it received from the Ministry on Tuesday a 'formal written Act of Confirmation' stating the group has 'met or exceeded' all of its licence commitments

Thats good enough for me!

cynic - 19 Apr 2007 12:23 - 115 of 896

i don't hold these shares, so have no axe to grind ..... IEC's own statement indeed gives some comfort, but the RNS from yesterday, "AFX roundup" I think it was called, gives a much fuller picture from several angles ..... well worth reading

blanche - 19 Apr 2007 12:38 - 116 of 896

Cynic
I respect your opinions always honest and well thought out. Iam only a small holder in this share (250) and i know this example is not the same but thought of RPT year or so ago, licence problems, fell right back. I brought in @60p. Just thought this might be a really good buying opportunity.8-)

cynic - 19 Apr 2007 12:43 - 117 of 896

rather hold IEC than RPT! ..... Timmins is at best a moral crook .... tempted by greed to buy IEC at these levels
