How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Seems to be working here too but I'm not going to trust it on this Germany match. Just have to do some exam revision with children instead - and I thought that was all over, lol

So Ed Murray really was one of the willy wonka winners lol. And there's me, the cynic, thinking it a was a windup.

Just watched ther Poland v Ecuador match, assuming one of them (Ec favourites now) finish second, whoever tops the Eng group have got nothing to fear. Poland looked like Eng at their worst, pedestrian and mostly devoid of any ideas. Ecuador worked hard, but clearly a lightweight attack and suspect at the back. Let's Hope Eng win their group.

Don't think we will have any problems beating Pol Steve, even if they get past the group stages, which is now very much in the balance and on tonight's performance they don't deserve to progress. How many times have we said that about Eng? lol

Didn't touch the Eng match today, their record in World Cup first games is not good and even after a tremendous start, they failed to make the game safe. Looks like Eng will have to win the WC inspite of Sven, unbelievably negative in the second half, leaving the result in doubt until the final whistle. Got to be happy with the win, particularly in view of TNT's amazing draw. but quite a poor performance overall. Oh and I see the weather was to blame yet again!!

Hi Pete,
Watched the Eng game too and despite the win I thought it was a pretty dire performance.

Well done Baks, placed the bet at 1-1, so was sweating a bit, also over 2.5 goals, so all my Xmases came together.
Probably go for Portugal in a bit, although not very good value

I layed Iran at 6.8 at 1-1 and watched it drift out. Then came the Mex goals :-)
Will be watching the Port game soon and see how it unfolds. Agree with you that its poor value and wont be trading before the game

Was kinda thinking that the correct score is extremely good value. Say 2-0 or 3-0 to Portugal, only problem is if Angola manage to score a goal the bet is stuffed!

I'm not a fan of trading correct scores as can go belly up. Have you tried dutching correct scores yet?

You can get 61% return on your trade if you cover correct scores 2-0, 3-0, 2-1, 3-1 and unquoted (to Portugal, of course). Anything else loses.
